Seems like they’re doing CAS students first, and I guess its safe to assume their decision release schedule is every friday for this year
Hmm… I hadn’t actually been on my portal since I applied actually so can’t help on that front–sorry! Just got an email that an update had been posted and then when I went there it just said status update
does anyone know the order of the schools? like right now is CAS, but when will other schools start releasing their decisions?
@blueki The portal checklist is still there. It’s just that there is a new section labeled “Status Update.” I got an email that made me check the portal.
@fraisesdesbois I’m waiting on USC, Cornell, Columbia as well as the UCs. How about you? Says on their website “If you accept our offer, you must withdraw any applications you have pending at other colleges or universities” which is what is concerning.
do we actually have to withdraw any applications we have pending at other colleges or universities, or do they just say that? I think i read somewhere that its fine not to withdraw other applications and that its just how the game simply works and not to worry about it but idk
I feel like if you applied to CAS and haven’t heard back by now you probably wont get in
@burritoboy Oh dear… wishing I heard back a little later then. it’s only April! I think I might try to ask for an extension in these ‘unprecedented times’… and I feel like this really early release of transfer decisions might relate to NYU worries about yield now. I’m waiting on Georgetown (which is supposed to come out in June), Northwestern, Barnard, and brown! I want to hear back from the other schools so not sure what to do… little problem
@burritoboy I’m not sure… bc I know in ED type contracts if you don’t withdraw and wait for regs, that’s a serious breach and you can your acceptance rescinded from both schools. but I also know that for regular decisions, waitlist kids usually put down a deposit somewhere else and keep waiting—it’s pretty much understood. I think though, if it explicitly says to withdraw pending apps, it might be in the camp of the former… we should try to ask someone more qualified/nyu themselves for clarity…
@fraisesdesbois for sure it is kinda unclear what they mean but if it is a legal contract it doesn’t seem like there is much that we can do. Emailing/Calling might be a good idea and you could be concerned about financial aid packages as well. Good luck with your other schools!
If you or anybody figures out what we can do lmk

@burritoboy you as well! best of luck wherever you go. Let me know if you hear anything – I will too! I’ll try to call today actually
Jk the office closed.
@Sampats last year’s thread showed CAS acceptances well into the end of May.
