can someone add me to whats app chat? my number is 914-357-0366
@DJTrurnitp If you go into NYU home and click “Work” on the side menu, you’ll see a section called “NYU Zoom” and if you click on that and then click on “Account Profile” on the side menu (different from just “Profile”) it will tell you what your “role” is
Hi did anyone receive TAP estimated a certain amount before getting accepted?
My account profile in NYU Zoom says my role is “Owner.” So strange. A few days ago, if I recall correctly, it was “Member.” 100% sure I got rejected now.
To be clear, they can make their decisions with only our Unofficial Transcripts right? The red Xs make me nervous lol
no financial aid data + still a member yikes
@stressedactor Yes! They’ll use it for decision making during this circumstances with whats going on.
I looked at my zoom account for my current university (SMU in Dallas) and it has my role as a member, the same as my NYU zoom account. Everyone is probably on different stages in their review process given your region, the school you applied to, etc, so these things most likely don’t all mean the same thing. Nevertheless, I still think this is an extremely minute detail that we all just looked way too deep into.
@CrazyBrain I wouldn’t think that negatively! I’m sure it’s nothing
Hey y’all, I was admitted to Gallatin on April 3rd, and even tho I was supposed to commit by last Friday, they took until literally today to release financial aid for me, so they extended my deadline to confirm enrollment until next Friday. However they gave me pretty crappy FA… which is par for the course at a school as expensive as NYU. I wonder if they’ll change anything tho considering the impacts of COVID-19? Lowkey wanting to submit an appeal…
@leafygreens congratulations! They probably wont change anything unless you reach out to them, so I’d call and ask if there’s anything you can do to receive more aid or if filing an appeal would help.
Also, what does your zoom portal say? And did your checklist disappear before your acceptance?
I also applied to Gallatin and am super nervous! Thank you for your help and good luck with getting more aid!
I also applied to Gallatin and my checklist disappeared this morning
I also applied to Gallatin but my checklist has been gone for a while
Hey Guys,
I’ve been accepted to NYU on August 10th and accepted their offer three days later. I know about their “withdraw all other applications” policy, so I wrote to all my schools asking them to withdraw my application. However, for some reason, today I received an acceptance letter from BU. Do you guys think this can negatively affect my admissions to NYU? Should I decline the offer from BU right away?
Also, I’m kind of paranoid that NYU can revoke my admission for no reason. Can this really happen after accepting their offer and submitting a deposit? Is it possible to be admitted by mistake and then rejected?
My checklist also disappeared this morning @hannabanana0807
Similar thing happened to my daughter, just decline the BU offer immediately. No problem.
I’ve never heard of NYU admitting people by mistake and then rejecting them. I have heard of mistaken admits at other colleges, but it’s rare, and those are usually withdrawn immediately. The cases i recall hearing about were mass mailings that got sent to the wrong list.
On my resume, my high school gpa unweighted is slightly higher than it actually was because I forgot what my unweighted gpa was and I used online calculators to estimate what it was, I noted that the gpa noted was an estimate. I recently got a copy of my high school transcripts are realized that the estimate was a little high (0.2 off). I will most likely email them tomorrow anyway, but in your opinions should I email the admissions office explaining the discrepancy or does it not matter?
@brightplaces i always like to be safe so if you want just call tomorrow (I prefer to call because they always answer and are very helpful) and ask. chances are though that they’ll tell you it doesn’t matter, they receive thousands of applications and that kind of discrepancy isn’t something decision changing, you know?
@mill213 I sent an email explaining and apologizing. I feel so bad. I am so dumb sometimes…
My member status just changed from member to member-student in zoom. Does this mean anything?
