NYU Fall 2020 Transfer

@af1113 @hannabanana0807 Congratulations!!!

Don’t worry, I’m pretty sure some of the CAS acceptances came out in May last year

What time did people stop getting decision notifications last Friday?

@nedesmom of course! I am an early childhood/special education major.

did u guys receive ur acceptances on the same page as the application checklist that disappeared?

@hannabanana0807 yes. they granted me extra time, but they only do this for reasons regarding financial aid.

If you’re CAS there’s little to no hope now

from the past forums CAS decisions were released until May so I don’t think that’s the case

Not necessarily!! There’s still a lot more time. (-: And if NYU doesn’t happen to work out this year, there are a lot of other options to continue your education. I’m also CAS and haven’t heard anything yet, so I feel you!

I also think they are waiting until after May 1st to release more decisions to see how many freshman they will have enrolled

I also got into Gallatin!

@leafygreens hmm I did not apply for FA (my mom said we don’t qualify), but I did apply to UT (in state tuition), so maybe I could use that as a reason??? what happens if I accept NYU then pull out, could I lose my other school?

@nibbie congratulations!

@nibbie @hannabanana0807 may I ask when you submitted your applications? And also if checklists disappeared or Zoom accounts changed or anything like that? I also applied Gallatin and am losing hope at this point :confused:

CAS and I haven’t heard back yet either. I did notice that my checklist disappeared though–last week I still had the checklist.

An admission officer emailed me on Wednesday asking me to clarify something on my transcript. It wasn’t anything to be concerned about. I’m just hoping this is a positive sign… like they’re showing interest and reaching out instead of just tossing my app in the reject pile? Lemme hope ? Judging from the email, it does look like they’ve just started looking at my app. I’m sure this is the case for many CAS applicants that haven’t heard back yet as well. The Fall 2018 transfer forum had CAS decisions coming out in late May–there’s still time. Plus factor in how the pandemic might’ve impacted things.

@Sampats take your negativity somewhere else homie! you’re spreading false worries for a lot of CAS applicants. People in the past years have been accepted to CAS all throughout May.

I wonder if they review apps based on the region that your HS is located in? I know for Vanderbilt, they assign a counselor to all transfer applicants based on where their HS is located in. Perhaps they sort applications into groups: Northeast, Midwest, South, West coast, and then international applicants. Idk.

My high school was in Florida btw just in case there is a correlation.

@hannabanana0807 @leafygreens I sent an email to admissions explaining that I needed more time because of other universities pushing their decision dates back and I got extra time.

for what major? and did your checklist disappear?

Well Done <3
