NYU Fall 2020 Transfer

They are obviously not done releasing acceptances

Yeah I don’t think anyone has received a response for CAS Econ… hopefully we do this Friday though!

@waterfalls723 @gabsPL @CrazyBrain Hi guys, so I went to this website regarding the May 1st deadline—which I mistakenly implied it that it was for transfer and Freshman admits, it’s just for Freshman admits, sorry about that!!!

https://www.nyu.edu/students/student-information-and-resources/housing-and-dining/on-campus-living/application-and-assignments/applying-for-housing.html

So for freshman admits, the housing application is due by May 1st. But since we’re all transfer students, we’re not guaranteed housing at all (visit the link above) and instead, we’re put on the waitlist:

“Beginning on March 25, 2020, waitlist undergraduate students will be able to access the 2020-2021 waitlist housing application on the NYU Global Home Housing Forms card. Since on campus housing is not guaranteed, transfer students are encouraged to seek their own accommodations. On campus housing offers will be extended only if space becomes available. Please note: The Fall 2020 housing application launch date has been pushed from March 16th to March 25th. Please monitor this website for further updates.”

I visited the page where I can apply for housing, and the priority date for housing applications on the WAITLIST is May 15th. *FYI, the housing application is $1k I believe.

“The Academic Year 2020-2021 application priority deadline is May 15, 2020. Students who complete this application by the priority deadline will be notified by the end of May if they are being offered housing. Students must be financially cleared and enrolled at the University to be eligible to receive an offer. All housing offers are contingent upon space availability. The final step requires submission of the ‘Application Confirmation’. This last step signifies completion of the application process. Once done you will receive a confirmation via email to your NYUHome account.”

So @CrazyBrain, I don’t think they’re done releasing acceptances

Hope this helps you guys! Sorry for the confusion once again!

what application changes did people see the day before they received their decision? and did anyone not see any changes, but still get accepted?

I just received an email from NYU that says:
“According to our records, NYU has not yet received your: Final High School Transcript
Please request this documentation to be sent immediately. If the documentation is not received in our office by Friday, May 1., your application will not be able to be considered for admission.”

I am an international student and it’s way too urgent. Isn’t it? I have only two days to prepare for the transcript including today, and all schools in my country are closed due to COVID and also now is holiday in my country. I called NYU right now and asked for an extension but the woman on the phone said it is not possible and I need to give them asap. Till now, the website says my checklist is all completed and I just need to wait for the decision, so I was very relieved till just now and suddenly they sent that “unexpected” email and submit by tomorrow!!! What can I do?

@jellyjelie oh my gosh! that is terrible i am so sorry. do you have access to an unofficial high school transcript? maybe a copy of one you saved from high school? or if you can find a way to go back and get all your grades from high school and compile them into a DIY unofficial transcript? they should accept something like that if you include in your email with the unofficial transcript that its a holiday for you and you were given SO little time. but that you got what you could together and hope they will be understanding in this time.

Thank you for the information!

@mmcowart Yes !! Thanks for your tip!! I am in a rush right now, I have a copy of unofficial transcript but not in English. The woman said it must be in English. I asked her again that can I get this translated and submit instead of getting issued from Korea, because it will take too much time and she says I need to use an authorized translation service, so I am searching for that. I called some translation&notarize services to give me quotation for translate&notarize and it’s minimum $90 to $150!! Anyway, there’s no way instead of this, so I am gonna use this service… OMG.

By the way, I think this indicates that they are still reviewing our applications-- I am applicant for Tandon- Biomolecular science. My checklists were gone for a while, maybe more than two weeks as I remember. I can access to housing deposit payment even though I am still waiting for decision. And my zoom thing said I am “Licensed.” Good luck for all of us!!

You should be able to upload your unofficial transcript and they’ll accept it.

@CrazyBrain Yes, I uploaded one but the problem was it was not in English. :frowning: A translation service is working on mine right now, so no more worries  Thx anyway.

Any Tisch students hear back yet? Or is that probably pushed back as asked earlier in this forum?

When did your portals all change where it says no more application materials are required?

Is anyone keeping track of which decisions have started releasing decisions? There have been posts for Gallatin. Any others?

I would assume this means that your application is definitely being reviewed now and you could potentially receive a decision the next time notifications are sent.

Which division/major?

Has anyone had any portal changes today?

@Dudu123456 I applied for Tisch - Film&TV and haven’t heard from them yet. I called NYU today and they said that Tisch students are gonna get notifications tomorrow and next week!

@larosa2 this just gave me major anxiety LOL fingers crossed

@fghjkl785 same! but we got this lol

Does anyone know when the next round of decisions will come out?

Probably tomorrow, given that they’ve been releasing decisions every Friday since the beginning of April.
