Has anyone called admissions and asked them when they plan on releasing the first wave of decisions?
I just checked common app and I noticed NYU’s deadline is now April 7th. I hope this doesn’t mean we have to wait longer for decisions

@Sampats definitely not. They do not start reviewing applications until after the deadline
For the past two years they sent out a few decisions the first Thursday after the deadline so I’m hoping lol

@jazziscool Other universities do the same thing, they admit on a rolling basis. I was told by an admissions counselor that they start reviewing applications earlier than their due date. So those that submitted their apps a while ago may have a good chance, although not guaranteed, on hearing back in the earlier waves.
@seabee91 Damn for real?! Man, I honestly could have submitted my application awhile ago. I hope this doesn’t ruin my chances of getting in. I just submitted my application lol.
I’ve seen in threads from previous years where applicants submitted early in Jan/Feb and didn’t get a decision till late May or even June. I’ve also seen people apply a few days before the deadline and got a decision like a week later so I personally don’t think it really matters when you’ve applied.
ok that sounds about right. I am guessing the decisions that come out earlier are rejections, cuz they are easier to decide.
No not necessarily because the first round last year were acceptances if i remember correctly
