NYU Fall 2020 Transfer

@nyu2001 My understanding is that most schools depend on a high school record mostly for traditional transfers who are sophomore transfers. Whereas if you are transferring as a junior or are nontraditional they won’t care as much. Most competitive schools suggest having a strong high school and college record.

Also, I was accepted with the Member status on zoom… I doubt that has anything to do with your decision for anyone who hasn’t heard back yet

I applied as an IR major to CAS, but heard nothing yet

Hi y’all I made a fall transfer 2020 groupme since I couldn’t find one or a facebook page, pm if you’d like the link because posting links isn’t allowed apparently.

Honestly I’m not even checking my portals at this point before they email me lol. Huge congratulations to everyone who got in!

CAS Psychology Major here. Checklist disappeared a week or two ago, and I’ve yet to receive any decision. Member-student on Zoom. Have two periods next to financial aid checklist items. Hoping for something good.

I definitely feel like decisions will be released either May 8th or May 15th… NYU just probably wants to sort out the commitment ratios and waitlist spots (for high school seniors) to see how much space they have to offer.

cs major at CAS accepted from UCSB with GPA around 3.4

I got accepted to CAS today - May 1st

Major: Psychology
I sent my application on April 1st, the last day
Current sophomore
From Virginia
HS GPA: 3.4
SAT: 1310
College GPA: 3.8
No notable EC’s
Never sent a midterm report (i was never asked to)
Good letter of rec
Horrible essays - honestly i wrote both of the essays in about 3 hours. I didnt have anyone edit it. I did not expect to get in at all.

The fact that I got accepted shows that you should not lose hope. I also got accepted to UVA today, im thinking about accepting that spot.

I applied to CAS for Computer Science and I still haven’t heard back. I sent in my app on April 1st. I’m a current international freshman at an engineering school in the Midwest. It’s on the quarter system so I sent in my winter grades instead of a midterm report.

HS GPA: 3.91W
ACT: 33
College GPA: 3.93UW

I did theatre in both college and high school quite seriously, and I’m part of a few societies / clubs in college and from HS, I listed TEDxYouth and dance I believe.

I only saw one of my rec letters (I didn’t ask to, they just sent it to me) and it was really good. I got one from my CS teacher, and my other was from the Electrical Engineering department head (back when I thought I would apply for EE so I don’t know if this could hurt if the letter is about EE…)

I think my essays were decent. Not my greatest works but probably a 7/10.

It probably varies depending on the undergraduate division and major. For which did you apply?
