is there a difference in going for undergrad or grad? does grad provide more connections post-grad? is it harder to get in for undergrad or grad? are there any other differences?

cuz i'm leaning towards going to a different school for undergrad (the film programs are the only things really tying me to nyu, but for other stuff, there are other schools i prefer) and then going to nyu for grad. thoughts?

comparing undergrad admissions and grad admissions are like comparing pears and kiwis- they just don’t correlate. yes, there are some similarities, but what each are looking for are VERY different.

this is a really general question and hard to summarize.

honestly, go with the school you see yourself being happy with for the next four years. when you’re a junior, THEN worry about grad school. really. most people decide they don’t want to go to grad school and only THINK they need to go to grad school.

but even to get into the film industry? maybe i’m just paranoid, but i feel like there is no realistic way to get into the business without going to either usc or nyu (or maybe a few select other schools known for film) for either undergrad or grad. i don’t want to say, attend cornell, and realize post-graduation that i have little connections to the entertainment industry. :-/

i’m in dramatic writing as an undergrad, but i’ve read and seen a lot of the grad work. it’s a lot more mature. that’s pretty much it. and they’re older

haha, ok. how do you like the undergrad program so far, though?
