is it true that there are a lot of gay dudes there? like is the 40% figure accurate?

Thank you again, Jackhammer! And for those of you who are wondering about the dorms, I’m not sure if anyone posted this link, but I found it to be pretty helpful -

[Guide To NYU Dorms 2011 · NYU Local](http://nyulocal.com/tag/guide-to-nyu-dorms-2011/)

So, if I’m a straight, conservative, straight-edge male who enjoys small class sizes and cities like Boston (as in kinda large, but still small enough that I’m not overwhelmed), I probably shouldn’t attend NYU?

Samonuh - Boston would probably be a much better fit, but omg I need someone like you here if I’m going to NYU. :(

YES! I have the same question. I don’t mean to sound blunt or rude, but I’m a straight, athletic, fashionable, conservative male. I absolutely adore the city atmosphere and I’ve always believed that NYU would be a great fit for me. Although, I keep hearing “Everyone is gay,” “You won’t make friends,” “You’ll hate it,” etc. and I was just curious, is this “Every guy is gay” stereotype true?

I just want to make this clear, however, I AM NOT TRYING TO BE DISRESPECTFUL. This is meant in no harm to the gay population, but I’m simply wondering if I’ll be able to find friends similar to me

Maybe we should make a Facebook group for straight, male, conservatives at NYU :P

The gay joke holds, but there really aren’t that many. What NYU’s infested with is hipsters.

I’m a socially conservative male, so you’re not alone. I’m sure there are others haha. I’m not that worried

I am starting in the fall for the Liberal Studies program but want to eventually transfer to Stern. Do you know how easy or difficult it is to transfer? thanks!

There are a lot of girls for you straight guys. They want straight boyfriends…isn’t that an incentive???

Not when you’re not single…

So I’ve got a couple of questions. How does Stern economics compare to CAS economics? Also, can I only apply to one, or is it like carnegie Mellon where I can pick the order of the schools that I would want to attend? For example if I wanted to go to stern more than cas, but I’d rather go to stern, can I say that stern is my first choice and CAS my second, or would I only be able to apply to stern?

There are a good amount of people that are in NYU whom are gay…but that number but the number of people you meet throughout your college experience that are gay/not gay are dependent on you… so even if a good amount of people are gay it might not matter to you cause you might not even see them

Hello, I have been accepted into CAS for economics. What are some minors that would go hand in hand with an economics major? Is a business minor suitable? Can one minor in business from Stern?

Thank you.

Thanks for doing this!

I am going as a maths major in CAS this fall. I would like to minor in physics. Do you think it will do me some good? Cuz lots of people here told me minor is not something worth effort.

OR- if I want to double major in maths and physics, does it mean that I will have double workload?

Do you like NYU? Are people nice and friendly? How did you pay for NYU? (:

how much performing opportunity do you have at NYU, not around the city? can you perform freshman year or is it a training year?

Will I get the welcome envelope soon? I got accepted on the 29th but no welcome packet yet!

I got my packet 2 days later. Where do you live? I live in NJ.

I live in NJ too!
