This may seem like a stupid question but I feel the need to ask anyway…
I’m aware of the fact that Stern and Tisch are considerably harder to get into than CAS and Gallatin. However, is there any real difference between admittance into the two of them (CAS and Gallatin)? I’m on the fence about which one to apply to and am curious about this. Any insight? thanks.

Well they're not just schools for being SCHOOLS. Each of NYU's schools specialize in something, and it's usually pretty hard to switch between schools. You may want to make your decision based on what you want to major and what your career goals are, not based on how hard either of them is to get in.

Did I ever say that I was unsure where to apply based upon acceptance rates? No, no I didn't. Thanks for not jumping to conclusions, I appreciate it...
Moving on, I DO have a plan in mind for whichever path I choose. And, do to curiosity, I was wondering if there were any major differences in either of their acceptance rates since I was under the impression that they were much the same. So, if you actually have something relevant to say on this topic and have no uninformed accusations to make, I'd love to know what you think.

defensive... =

My daughter applied to Gallatin last year and was admitted. One thing we learned is that there are more scholarships in CAS. Just in case that matters to you . . .

I went to the Gallatin open house and they say that all of the schools have an equal acceptance rate. They said that if you didn't get into CAS then you wouldn't have gotten into Gallatin either, and the other way around.
