NYU HEOP Class of 2017 (2013)

Hi guys. I have applied to NYU through the HEOP program, attended the interview session (which went really well) and sent all my tax information. I am just curious about others who are waiting to hear from NYU and your income! I think my income might be too high (it’s around 51,000 with 6 people in my house) but NYU’s guideline for a 6 person house is way lower. Also they asked for my sisters’ taxes which will make my total house income go up. I really wanna go to NYU through HEOP but I’m nervous about the income guidelines. Does anyone else have this problem?!

Hey everyone, i got my email today. It was in my Junk Email but i checked the portal beforehand and saw the admissions button. SO HAPPY.
Congratulations 0osparkleso0, i got accepted to CAS as well.
I’m one step closer to becoming a doctor! YAY :)

@lilmelonred and @dydx1234 thanks you guys! Hopefully ill see you in the summer program then!

Congrats on your acceptances guys! Could any HEOP accepted students post their basic stats? Thanks :D

@Ashleyxlove14: As long as your income for 6 people is below $58,442, you should be eligible.

Did anyone not hear anything. I applied to CAS.

@sparkles: I haven’t heard from them yet. lol But even if I don’t get it, i’ll be in GS so i still gotta do the summer program on campus or off campus at poly though.

Lmao normally i wouldnt feel comfortable doing so but since i was super anxious about whether or not my grades were up to par ill post mine. Gpa: 3.7/4 unweighted sat:1600/2400 (terrible I know, I only took it once though and I didnt try because I didnt even think I was going to be able to go to college) I wrote a really good essay was in national honor society, italian club, treasurer for a community service club, read books to kids in the library every saturday during the summer for community service, I was also in a recycling club for 2 years, while working 21-28 hour weeks. Sorry if I got too in depth haha but I hope this helps someone out :)

Did anyone hear get accepted for HEOP at any school within NYU?

@lilmelonred thats awesome! I cant wait to go  does gs have good financial aid as well?

@fd1995 I got accepted through HEOP at the nyu CAS

When and how did you find out?

My stats: 3.7 GPA, 1700 SAT, excellent recommendations, essays, ECs… I hope I do get HEOP so that I know i’m staying here. lol
GS doesn’t provide as good FA as HEOP so this is why I hope I get HEOP. If i don’t i gotta go and beg them for more money? Idk I mean i’ve seen the package and I think i got decent aid lol.

@lilmelonred we have really similar stats I bet you’ll get in! Would you be dorming in the summer or commuting

@fd they sent an email and when you login to albert you should see an admissions offer button

@sparkles: commuting :). too expensive to dorm.

i did not hear anything from them ://

Any news. Acceptances or rejections?

Haha I never post stats either, but i feel this could help people out …
GPA: around 3.6 i think, unweighted
SAT: a little more than 1800.
I also take honors classes, AP’s and stuff.
EC: A bunch of clubs at my school never held and officer position.
National Honor Society
Community Service: Volunteer at a hospital, clean ups, Walks etc

I got admitted to NYU class of 2017 for CAS. I was just wondering for the HEOP program over the summer, how long is it for? Is it July to August? Can we dorm there? Thanks

i think its from July 8th to August 13th cause i believe that’s how long the Second Summer Session runs for

Thanks. I’m just so confused…I got into NYU but wait listed to Barnard. Any advice?
