Hey all! Is it too early to start a thread for NYU HEOP Class of 2021? NYU is my absolute dream school and it’d be great to get a discussion going.

Going for ED II + HEOP. CAS Bio AND LAS

HIGH SCHOOL: SMALL HIGH SCHOOL.
Average SAT of school: 880
SAT: 1340 (Verbal: 600, Math: 740) - I know it’s low, but improved from 960 to 1340 in a single year.
Unweighted Average: 93.68 - Should be higher next semester
Class Rank: 7/266
AP: 5, not yet taken.
DE: 8, mostly A’s
Ethnicity: Asian.
WHY NYU: 7/10
Commonapp Essay: 7/10
Recommendation Letters: 8/10
NYU applicants from my school: About 10.

of college credits: 44

EC:

  1. National Honor Society
  2. Counselor for a middle school.
  3. College Now

4) 1500+ hours Volunteer Jobs in different areas - Not gonna list it, but it's about 4 of them.

Weighted Average: 88.00 - My grades significantly improved this year to make up for my average last year. I got a 95 in the first marking period
Class Rank:My school doesn’t do ranks
AP: 2 ( AP Computer Science + AP English Composition).
Ethnicity: West Indian
WHY NYU: 9/10
Commonapp Essay: 10/10
Recommendation Letters: 8/10

  1. President/Founder of Girls Who Code Club at school
  2. President of Literary Magazine at school. I also participated in 8 poetry slams. I also have several poems in the literary magazine
  3. Treasurer of Indian Club
    4.) Spirit Leader at my school
  4. Participated in the Girls Who Code Summer Immersion Program
    6.) Participated in the #BUILTBYGIRLS competition. I created a safety app that ensures a safe commute for all. The President of Cricket Wireless wrote a LinkedIn Article about it.
    7.) Create several minor android apps ( games, painting app, etc.)
    8.) 60+ Volunteering hours at a local hospital
    9.) Volunteered at my church ever summer for 4 years.

Are u guys doing HEOP to other colleges, I did some other colleges for HEOP.

I’m doing it for Stony Brook , Barnard , Binghampton , Bard , And Cornell but NYU is my #1

@Smartisan5 I did EOP to all SUNYs, SEEK to all CUNYs, and HEOP to Fordham, NYU, and Columbia. However, I got kicked out from EOP from some of the SUNYs already. Sad :frowning:

I did HEOP to Fordham, stony brook, Rochester, union, Colgate, and Hamilton, and Cornell. Hope I get in to one of them. But NYU is my first choice

Did u guys received a email saying that you and your parent are invited to a workshop for financial aid ??. Do that mean anything
