I come on here trying to give advice but it is really hard to get to the NYU board. I think NYU Should be a top cc college just based on Stern alone. I mean come on at least have a subforum just for the bschool.

overrated....

if NYU gets one, a lot of other colleges deserve one as well (ahem cough cough ucsd)

I agree with huskem55....definitely overrated

For the most part, the top CC schools ranked in the top 25 according to USNews and are non-Ivies. The only exception is UNC (at 27), and I'm going to take a guess and say that it used to be in the top 25. NYU is at 37, so that explains it. NYU is very overrated; so many people apply for the heck of it, and absolutely know nothing about the school.

That's because everyone loves Ivies here.

The top college forum doesn't have Ivies, its for the none Ivy elite privates and publics (Stanford, Duke, MIT, Northwestern, Chicago, UNC, Mich...) or you can just click to see them

NYU isn't as good academically as the rest of them

D's class has Brown, 2 Cornell, Harvard. Valedictorian is going to NYU.

Technically, Tufts should be on there since it ranks higher than UNC, oh well, such is life...

"it's really hard to get to the NYU board"

Really? Why is it so hard?

Ugh, NYU, most girls at my school are applying to NYU, just because its in new york. It's definetly overrated and shouldn't be in the top 50 in my opinion, yea it has stern but thats about it.

NYU is overrated in the sense that it's pointless to pay 50,000 a year for an education that can usually be equalled by a state school. The only exceptions would be Tisch, Stern, and the Law School - all of these are well worth the money and make NYU a good school overall.
But yes, most people apply to it because it is New York. If one wants the best academics and New York, they'll apply to Columbia, but it looks like everyone's already caught on. :)

How about just adding Stern by itself?

Also NYU is #1 dream college and it is not equalled by a state school. NYU is way better than that.

I have seen NYU and it looks like it has no sense of community. Also, New York is extremely expensive

Berkeley is a state school, and is better than NYU (also Haas>Stern).

uh no. stern > haas. check out the placement reports. haas is only good for the west coast and guess what?? the companies there ARENT as good as the ones on the east coast.

stern >>>> all

yeah it has like no campus, no community. if you like nyc, i guess itd be good. but if u want a campus and u want NYC, then go to Columbia (which has better academics anyway)

stern = columbia baby

Silicon Valley...

that's tech oriented and is nothing compared to:

lazard, blackstone, goldman sachs, jp morgan, lehman brothers, merill lynch, google, microsoft, Citigroup, AIG, etc.
