So I was just admitted into NYU in the Liberal Studies Core Program. I have heard a lot of mixed feelings on this program and I’m unsure about going to NYU with this program for the next two years and then declaring a major at CAS. I was also accepted into Fordham Lincoln Center with a partial scholarship. So I basically need some help. Should I go to NYU and attend a Liberal Studies Program with a bad stigma and lack financial aid or attend Fordham with the money and my major but lack the NYU name and possible connections it could provide me??
Thanks!!
If money is not that big of a deal to you, I would suggest you choose NYU. Not only will the name recognition and connections help you later, but traveling and learning in different parts of the world will help you to gain a broader outlook on the world. When you graduate from NYU you will still get a BA in whatever major you choose but with the added bonus of having traveled a lot. If you are open to new experiences and want to explore an off-beaten route for college, then I would say go to NYU.
(tbh i dont know a lot about Fordham’s Lincoln Center but all i know is the NYU name holds a lot more weight)
