NYU Liberal Studies Program

So this isn’t whatsoever reflecting a associates degree program correct?

Hey! I was just wondering if NYU accepts any ED applicants into LSP? If anybody was in this situation, I would really appreciate knowing a little bit about your experience. Thank you!

I was ED to LSP  What do you want to know? Message me, so its a more personal response, please.

I thought you couldn’t apply to LSP directly — why is it an available option in the Common App?

If I am in CAS and take a class from LSP would it be considered a non-CAS class? I am allowed to take only 16 credits outside CAS but I was going to use those for Stern courses. Help me please.

No one???

Hello!
so I just got accepted to LSP… and the letter said that I should reply
back to NYU within three weeks… What I was wondering was that if I accept the formal offer of admission to the Liberal Studies Program, I am bound to go to NYU?
As much as I love to attend NYU, I still want to wait until Apr. 1st to see which colleges I got accepted to… and decide later on.
gah… this is really frustrating… :frowning:
can anyone help me with this?

I’m in the same dilemma. Did you do ED? I called the admission office today and they answered that we are not bound to go to NYU (meaning that we may reject their offer), but we must reply by the deadline they gave because we accepted to receive their formal offer of admission.

yeah it’s a pain in the neck… but no, I didn’t apply for ED… I did RD and got my decision like 3 days ago… so yeah… :(

I’m sooooo confused! I applied regular decision to NYU and today I recieved acceptance into the liberal studies program, but I don’t know if I should be happy or bummed out. I’m so conflicted! Any insight?

I am also confused about this whole thing. While I am excited to be selected for this program, I still want to hear back from the other schools I applied to.

So basically we must respond within three weeks otherwise we are no longer offered admission to the program? Is there any specific reason for this early deadline?

Okay. I just got my acceptance to LSP and rejection to CAS also. But I don’t really understand it. What is the difference between them? Because I had good stats and thought I was going to get in, but I was rejected by CAS. Is LSP for students that were rejected for everything else?

I just got in to LSP too.
I don’t understand how we’re meant to let them know in 3 weeks??

I just want to know, is this a good thing or a bad thing? I know it’s good because we got in, but is LSP to be more excited about or kind of disappointed about? I feel like it can’t really be good if we got “rejected” from CAS.

Guys, be happy about it! Only 10% of NYU applicants are supposedly offer admission to this program. For people like me, who plan to go the pre-medical route if a BS/MD does not work out, this program will let me have a Lib. Arts education while still preparing for medical school. At least…this is what I have been told.

I have a question though. When I activate my NYU ID (this is to make sure I get a formal acceptance letter), will that automatically make me a matriculated member for the class of 2015, or is it just something that will help bring an official letter of acceptance in?

Congrats to all of those who were selected!

Hey everyone. I called the admissions this afternoon and I was told that we are required to activate the NYU ID within 3 weeks to recieve the formal acceptance. However, we are not binded to go to the school; we still have until May 1 to send an enrollment deposit.

So for all those still waiting on schools like me, don’t worry! Although NYU’s LSP program is an amazing offer, we still have time to hear back from other places too :)

I just logged into my albert thing and went to admission status and there was a green box which i clicked on, and now im on a page and i have a chioce of Washington square, Florence, London, Paris, or shanghai. This is crazy!!! Im wondering if everyone who got accepted through LSP has these options or if it depends on the individual. I’m from London so they probably think im more inclined to go to different places!!! This is so exciting that NYU accepted me since i got rejected from Tulane yesterday hahaah!!!

Wait so when you click that green box and it says accept/decline and you click accept you’re not bound right?

no of course you’re not bound to it, the school can’t legally do that since you never signed anything like one would with ED.

It was kind of scary having to choose what campus, i chose NY though since its freshman year and i would want to be there for it!!!

i got my acceptance to LSP today. I was wondering if we reject the referral options (LSP) are we given another chance in april or is that the end of NYU’s decision. Im sort of bummed by this decision. This thing makes me sound like a failure :(
