I just got this huge booklet thing from NYU. Called "any given day at NYU..."

I was just amazed on how big it was and how much money it costs them to send it out.

yea i got that too

its HUGE!!

I got it as well. Is there anyone who applied to NYU early decision who didn't get the envelope?

Oh the money I'd pay to see the looks on these kids' faces when they realize NYU is nothing more than a giant, monolithic money making scheme feeding off innocent hopes and dreams.

Do not seek individuality here; you will not find it. Their 2 dollar investment in that "huge booklet" is expendable when they start collecting $50,000 tuition.

I asked my friend, he said no

i havent applied yet...

I looked through that book and didn't really like it, though I can't explain why. It just seems too "canned," I guess. Those kids aren't exactly the hellraisers that can be found around NYU. :) No matter what firewalker says, there're a lot of ways to do the things you care about, and you don't have to be like those ideal students in those books.

I haven't gotten it yet. I received all the stuff about my application being receieved a few weeks ago, though.

did any of you receive sth that asked for extra info about financial aid?

i receiveed an email that confirmed that nyu received my app. does this count as "mailing"? lol

kullucka_lh3--yeah, they asked me about that too. ahah, i guess my ED financial aid sheet seemed strange to them? -.-

do u think that's a good sign, bad sign or it doesn't matter?

^
well, i would think that it doesn't really matter; maybe they just estimate the financial aid package they can give to everyone while they're evaluating our applications, and we just didn't provide enough information in the ED financial aid sheet.

on the other hand, i have heard people tell me it's a good sign, but it's not good to get your hopes up. but i do wish you the best of luck with your NYU results =)

thanks seohee. i, of course, know that i shouldn't get my hopes up on that, but sometimes you just want to find little details that make u feel a little better. lol. Good luck to you too! Let's hope it's a good sign!! (since we both received it. lol);)

yeh i got one too, and like everyone else applying who got one i hope it means something too

I got one, and i haven't even applied to NYU, nor plan on applying. Maybe as a transfer though

Did anyone get a Parent News thing? haha. My mom thought it was something important (she doesnt really know anything about college / doesnt speak or read english) so she thought it was important. It's just this thing about how you can pay for NYU or whatever.

DAMN! I want to hear, hahaha. the wait is killing me.

^

yeah, i got that too.

ahah, i think it would be so mean of NYU for getting all our hopes up with these newsletters that seem like that matter (paying for college, asking for extra info about financial stuff, etc.) and then sending a rejection letter.

I got one in my junior year, and this year, so I don't think it has anything to do in respect to your admission status. It is huge, but not that informative.
