NYU math vs physics?

for undergrad which one

has a better rank?
harder workload?
which one is more impressive?

big names are in both department so im not too sure which has a better rank…nyus math is well known for applied math (courant) and nyu’s physics is well known for its condensed matter and high energy groups. I am more familiar with NYU’s physics department and I can say that there are several people who are very big in their fields that are worth working with…people such as paul chaikin (famous for his M&M project which related to the a packing of ellipsoids study) and david grier

physics has the harder workload (one of the hardest afaik…i think only ~40 kids graduate from physics every year) but math is not easy by any means either

impressive for what…? depends on what you want to do…
