Hi! My name is Zion and I am currently a junior in high school. I have an extremely low GPA (2.17) but I hope & plan to get straight A's my junior year which would bring it up to around a 3.14, unweighted. I'm currently am enrolled in all honors classes. My dream school, as with many people, is NYU. If anyone with some knowledge on NYU's music business program could chance me/give me some insight on how to improve my chances that would be great! Here are my stats:
GPA (Unweighted) 2.17

EC's: Started FBLA this year, doing Digitial Design and Promotion competition. Not many in school EC's, but many outside of school. Music photographer and copy editor for Second Fleet Magazine, a music webzine that features popular artists in the industry. Fueled by Ramen street team member — promote concerts when FBR artists come to the area, some experience with event management (hosting and promoting listening parties). Brown belt in Tae a Kwon Do, should be black belt at the time of application. I also have a job at my karate school, in which I assist tae kwon do classes and help after school care (homework help, etc) Applied for a business/marketing program at the Baltimore Zoo for summer 2015, I'd say I have a pretty good shot at getting in. Lastly I have the potential to get an internship over the summer at a local venue where I would do concert promoting and other venue management things.

SAT/ACT: Taking ACT in December, hope to get a 27+.

Essays: Should be great, my current English teacher is a professor at UMBC and will help me a lot in writing my essay.

Rec Letters: I have a pretty good relationship with the Street Team director at Fueled By Ramen, if I could get a rec letter I thunk this could improve my chances astronomically. Marketing teacher/FBLA advisor also a potential writer.

Other: I plan on applying ED in hopes of improving my chances. Also taking classes at my local community college this spring (English 101 and probably other courses. if anyone could recommend classes that'd be great!) Senior year course load includes AP Statistics, AP Economics, AP Enviromental Science, AP Studio Art..the rest honors classes.

If anyone has any other questions for me feel free to ask and your help is greatly appreciated!
