I was looking at a site and it said that if you apply ED and you get accepted, then you must go to the school provided that THE SCHOOL MAKES IT FINANCIALLY POSSIBLE TO ATTEND.

If I qualify for low income (dad's job is "civil service," so taxable income is very low....33K-ish), and I get accepted to NYU, will NYU "make it possible to attend?" (aka full/near full ride?). If not, does that mean i'm not bound anymore to ED?

Hmm...There's no such thing as "full/near full ride" here....

33K... hmmm here's how it will work out.

7~15K grant depending on your GPA+SAT Score
2~4K Federal Loan
4K Work Study
30~37K PLUS Loan.

Welcome to NYU.

yo i thought hat before but i got about 32k in scholarship from nyu in just univertsity loans(22k stern scholarship, 10k henry niles) hopefully i will get another 1-2k in stuff from my school this weekend and i have 1.6k in federal grant. My stern tuition will cost $236 dollars without any outside scholarships even though i should get some. If you get something like this, then you should easily be able to afford it.

Littlebusrider, if you dont mind me asking whats your parents' income range? And were you one of those people whos faid went up after you accepted a spot @ NYU?

my moms income last year was only 20,000 but its going to be about 45,000 this year. I had 20k stern scholarship on all academic merit then that went up to over 22k b/c of need after i accepted a spot, but i asked and they said 20k is locked in at the minimum if i keep up my work. Last, I got the Henry Niles scholarship for 10k. According to Stern undergraduate advising the qualification for this is "high academic merit" but need is also taken into account. They wouldnt tell me exactly how much of this is locked in but im guessing it has to be at least 5k if the need based they gave me on the other one was 1/10 of the academic.
