NYU NetIDs now working!

What does it means, how can I fix it!

ATTENTION! we have not been able to verify your identity by matching our records of your ID with your date of birth. This can occur if our database does not contain correct date-of-birth information or if you didn't correctly enter your birthdate.

It worked before, but now my account has expired? Anyone else experiencing this?

Anyone else get this message?

andddd my account says expired too. darn.

Mine used to say and newly accepted students, but it doesnt say that anymore. It just leaves it out completely and doesnt even off me a univ. id

I'm ED and I'm able to sign it. But like a month ago it said the same thing that you guys are saying, wrong birthday or cannot identify. I wouldn't get too worried though, it seems weird that there would be accounts for everyone already when no one's gotten their letter or sent in their deposit. But who knows, maybe!

Another thing that's sort of trippy is...

Why would NYU make accounts (e-mail accounts, etc) for EVERY REGULAR DECISION APPLICANT THEY'VE DECIDED ON ALREADY?

It would simply take up too much database space or memory or whatever. I mean especially since not all these people they accepted would attend...

but then it's contradictory, that some accounts ARE already made. Why would they make it unless they wanted that person to attend?

...this is confusing and trippy.

I can't imagine why they would create an email account for RD students who had not sent in their deposit yet.

Like I said, it's a mistake, just as it was last year. Don't get too confident if you could log in, and/or don't get too depressed if you couldn't.

i know, its weird. im rd but this afternoon i did it all and got an nyu email and everything. signed in a couple times and whatnot. then tonight it says your account is not active and when i try to sign in from another page it says our records indicate you are not authorized to have an nyu account (or something like that) at this time

They make accounts for everyone accepted to make it easier to fill out acceptance forms, housing forms, and what not. Atleast that's what the other colleges I was accepted to did.

Hopefully they stopped giving out IDs because they weren't done with everything.

bloomberg - hey, not doubting you or anything, but out of curiosity, how do you know the other colleges did that?

and matth - so last year, did people who were able to log in early find out later that they werent accepted? thats weird that they would make that mistake again this year.

i was accepted ed this year, but i heard somewhere in cc, that nyu applicants last year were able to find out their admission decision by trying to get their net id.

i don't want to get excited about this, but i was able to make the netid. i didn't go through with the rest of it though.

grr, one more month of waiting i guess.

***and by bloomberg i meant bloomster =)

btw...is anyone else (rd) still able to set something up?

does anyone here work for admissions at nyu? if so, could you clarify the matter for us?

i emailed home@nyu.edu earlier this afternoon. if i hear back from them i will let you guys know

Scrapnel: I know BC let me set up an email account. http://facebook.com/p.php?id=1617525&l=471b68de66 (my facebook)

Last year people were able to log in a couple days before stuff was mailed out and it was accurate, but there's a decent chance that they haven't finished everyones app.

were you able to get that one before you knew you were accepted? if so thats pretty cool, we have hope! =)

Didn't try to. But if you have been able to login to NYU deally then you can probably be pretty confident you are accepted (why would they create accounts that let you fill out housing forms for people who are rejected?)

Anyways I'm still praying that they just haven't reached my app and that's why I couldn't log in. I hope someone from admissions sheds some light on this.
