NYU New Standardized Test Score Requirements

So it's official. We no longer have to take the SAT to get into NYU. You need to do one of the following:
1. SAT Reasoning with 2 subject tests
2. ACT With Writing
3. SAT Reasoning with 2 AP exam scores
4. 3 SAT Subject Tests (non-language. One in math/science, one in literature/humanities, one choice)
5. 3 AP exam scores (non-language. One in math/science, one in literature/humanities, one choice)

Does this seem really sketch to anyone else? I mean, I got a 5 in AP World last year and almost certainly got 5s in English Language and Calc AB this year, so why even bother sending in SATs? I mean three 5s is no where near the same as a perfect SAT score, but according to NYU's new policy, wouldn't they have to be kind of the same? Wouldn't that make you almost a shoe-in as long as you have decent grades? I feel really unsure about this new policy and what to send in. So... your advice now. My three 5s, or my 2220?

i say 2220 and 2 5’s (option 3 of the ones you listed) and you can throw in the third five just to make you look better cuz i got into nyu (cas) with a 2050 on SAT & 790&750 on SATII

i got the postcard in the mail the other day.

ah this is so refreshing, i know i can get 5’s on calc and lang, but it would be much harder to get two 700’s in mathII and LIT

for your case, i would just send it everything.

^but see the problem is now everyone is just going to find ways to make themselves look like perfect applicants. This is just going to make the applicant pool stronger and it will become difficult for even the best scorers on any test to stand out.

exactly. I felt VERY competitive before with my 2200… but now i feel like anyone with three 5s can bump that.

do microeconomics and macroeconomics go under the humanities?
and does statistics work for mathematics?
:D
