Regards
Jack

I plan on applying ED1 as well :)

me too! :D

Every year I would go here during the decision release days and READING those threads feel like watching an emotional Hollywood art house drama especilliy reading people’s emotions after they got accepted:D or rejected:( …

NYU school of engineering (previously called NYU Poly) will be added to the list of colleges/ school of NYU this Fall on the common app. If your friends are interested in NYU and wants to study engineering, encourage them to apply too! Tuition is very expensive though.

I was accepted ED1 this year to SCPS for Hotel Management, so I don’t come on here too often but I can answer some of your questions about the application process, etc. Good luck to you all!

Same, I’ll most likely be attending Stern '17, so I can answer questions about NYU/Stern admissions. Good luck!

I have been on this forum for a long time, and frankly, I have never seen any one posting their stats with just submitting subject test. Especially applying Stern.

It may listed as an option, but is it really a option, or just being there so suckers can submit and get rejected easily?
If so ,what marks do I need to get on those subject tests to justified my self.

Note: I am applying as international student from Canada

The subject tests I am planing to take.
Math LVL2
Physics
American History
Literature ( I really don’t want to take it unless I really have to)
Chinese with listening (Useful if I speak Chinese fluently?)

Hey jackNYU2018: I am recently accepted by Stern and most likely going there. I took 3 subject tests and got 800 in maths, 720 in literature and 720 in history. Hope that helps. Also, for everybody else, Ask Me Anything about the admissions process!

omg @mlang13 , you are a savior. I suck at taking long tests and thank god you replied to me. boost so much confidence in my self.

But you just submited three subject tests, right? Not also with ACT or SAT I ?

Hey an HS junior here, applyin to Stern ED1 this fall (seems so far away but it’s prob not lol)

So you can take 3 SAT 2 subject tests in replacement of submitting an SAT 1 score and still get in? dang. Do you know if it’s as successful as a normal SAT 1?

Also @mlang13, what were your stats? GPA and what not

hi,i’m planning on applying to the college of arts and science! and i’m an international student from China and studying in us private high school. so do any one of you know the requirements (like gpa, sat1, sat2, etc) of the college of arts and science. that would be so helpful ! looking forward to any reply !

Hi, so for NYU, for testing, you can opt:

The SAT Reasoning Test; or
The ACT with Writing Test; or
Three SAT Subject Test scores; or
Three AP exam scores; or
The International Baccalaureate Diploma; or
Three IB higher-level exam scores (if you are not an IB Diploma candidate); or
Results from a nationally accredited exam that is considered locally to signify the completion of secondary education, is administered independently of the student’s school, and has been approved by the NYU Office of Undergraduate Admissions (approved options are listed below)

In addition to

1 teacher letter of recommendation
Common App
NYU Supplement
GPA Transcripts/ IB Diploma (whichever you have)

With regards to SAT scores, you should be aiming for at least 2000+, but the higher the better

good luck!

these are so helpful but do you know what number of gpa would be enough?? should i have more than 3.7 unweight ?

btw, for the three ap scores option, do we need three 5s on each one or just three scores no matter the number ???

For CAS, a 3.7 is very competitive, so you should be fine.

Obviously, 3 5’s would be most ideal, but just like the SAT’s where you don’t need all 800’s, is not a hard requirement.

Hey jacknyu2018: I submitted my SAT I as well as three subject tests. I got 2290 the first time so I didn’t take it again… Good luck with all the testing! Just do more practice tests and you will get the hang of it~

actually i don’t have 3.7 that high, so if 3.6 unweight enough for CAS??

Yeah, I know a few who got into stern with 3.5s, so you should be fine.

thanks a lot

Oh look. A thread for me. I’m applying ED.
