what are you applying for, IM tisch film

@moyera yeah mines not showing up. I guess they dont check it off?

Yeah, the portfolio hasn’t been checked off for me either, yet. Have more people seen their Common App status change from “submitted” to “downloaded?” Mine hasn’t changed at this point; I submitted it pretty close to the deadline, but the first letter of my last name is close to the beginning of the alphabet, so I’m getting a bit worried. This wait is giving me so much anxiety!

I wouldn’t worry about it - I am not sure what order they review things in, but if you submitted it on time, you should be fine.

Are your parent ED agreements marked as submitted or downloaded on the common app?
I am getting really scared since that might mean they did not consider me?
There are only a few weeks left and I am very excited to get the results! I wish you all the best luck :D

Do you think that the intended major you selected effect your admission decision?

@Mandyrocks Everything for mine is downloaded except for the parent’s ED agreement - I think that they do not download that because I know they are reviewing my application.

@kathrynstern I think that they consider your intended major to a certain extent. For instance, if you are a math major and you have all Cs in Math, they might question something.

@marinozai thanks, that makes sense! :)

@katrynstern, judging by your username I guess you are applying to Stern? I am too with an intended major in economics! What is your intended major?

My D has applied ED1 and Parent ED agreement says submitted not downloaded. According to her Albert account, NYU has everything. I would not stress about the submitted instead of downloaded for parent agreement. It is probably never downloaded because your counselor can’t submit an ED agreement without parental consent, so as long as counselor is downloaded, you are good. And where are all of you referring to regarding app submitted vs. downloaded? We have schools where my D has been already accepted and it app just
says submitted. Are you referring to teacher recs or app in general? Good luck to all of you!

Has anyone received a student interview on skype? I applied to Gallatin as an international student and received an email offering me the opportunity…

BYW, my Albert does not say that NYU scheduled its notification date to Dec 13… Where can I find the message?

It says it on the home page before you log in.

Thanks, @marinozai!

Do you guys think it’d help or hurt to email admissions to ask if everything is in order? I wouldn’t want to annoy them, though, since they’re definitely busy…

@Mandyrocks, i’m applying to cas. this year i realized that my chances of getting into stern are slim, so i changed my mind. my intended major is economics as well! best of luck!

@silentgravity- you should call. I did it and they just looked in my file and told me everything that was there. It’s quick, easy and they’re totally understanding

Im Henry and I applied ED to Stern. Looking to do a global business major due to my multicultural background and interest in other cultures (along with a strong interest in business duh).

Is anyone else really nervous about the decision?? I love NYU and I’d be so sad if I didn’t get in.

@PinkPurple95 Thanks for the advice! I emailed them, and they said they had everything. Breathed a huge sigh of relief after that!

Also, my portfolio was checked off yesterday, I think, but the Common App still only says submitted; so, for anyone still worrying, it seems like things are happening a bit out of order and maybe not getting updated on our end, but we should all be fine! A little over two weeks left, you guys!!!

@rogahen Did you consider applying to NYU Shanghai - studying business with NYU in Shanghai would provide you with an extremely multicultural education in a business capital of the world.

Hey, so this kid who is applying to NYU that I know found this thing that may or may not indicate acceptance/rejection, and I was wondering if you’d help us sort of test it. There is apparently this part of NYU Home that is called Globesmart. When he used to log in and click “Settings” it would say, “Unauthorized access” but now it shows him a profile. It does it for me too, and says, “Date created: 11/28/13”

Could you try logging into Globesmart and clicking “Settings” and tell me what you find? To log in, log into NYU Home here: https://home.nyu.edu/home and then it should say “Globesmart Login” somewhere on the page.

And then can you post whether it gives you an error message, or if it gives you the profile?
