@rocky ill chance you if you chance me :)

sure im down

@gaborik
i wasn’t 100% sure, so i confirmed with my regional representative and got this email in return.

so yeah. im considered for both. i don’t know what to make of that email tho ^^

Yah weird cause no sterns reported a program change and a program change looks promising for your second program. Who knows though we find out soon.

i’ll be the first and lead the way :^)

@rocky what are your stats?

33 act 3.1gpa

REALLY REALLY strong essays.
Strong rec’s im assuming.
good ec’s
1 AP our school doesn’t offer many.

Your gpa is a little low, however your act scores are strong which will show them something. They are going to look at you in the context of your school so the 1 ap shouldn’t hurt you. If you have good ecs, essays and recs that should help with your gpa. It will also help if you have an upward trend and stronger grades sophmore/junior year. Nyu is a bit of reach but definitely not impossible

an upward trend, i also didn’t apply for FA and apparently that helps even though NYU is need blind.

perhaps someone can chance me?

GPA: 3.17 UW
frosh: 2.87
soph: 3.3
junior: 3.25 (mom got cancer that year)

1980 SAT
2 really good essays and recs from two teachers who really like me

captain of track team, web developer, professional photographer, and business owner

took 7 honor classes junior year and i’m taking another 7 this (senior) year

i identify as african american

thoughts?

This is on Albert account under FA To Do, don’t recall seeing it before…does anybody else have?

@yungmoney being completely honest, identifying as african american should help your chances. Since your gpa had a slight downward trend, it would have helped if you mentioned the circumstances in your application. Your ecs are decent, being a business owner might help especially since youre applying to Stern. however your sats are slightly low for stern in addition to the gpa so NYU, Stern in particular is a rather high reach. Does your school offer a.p classes?

@pennydogman yeah I don’t remember reading that either, but I have it so it probably doesnt mean anything.

@yungmoney i think the african american bit will help. did you write the essay about the cancer?

chance me?

Yes penny. That was always there.

Can someone chance me? applied to stern bpe, asian female

GPA: 3.75 W (significant upward trend 3.3, 3.58. 4.32, 6 A.Ps senior year)
SAT: 2260, 710 math II, 700 ush
Decent common app and supplement, 3 very strong recommendations

ECs: founder and president of history honor society, NHS, club volleyball player for 3 years, varsity xc for senior year, habitat for humanity, secretary for amnesty international, vp of model united nations, yearbook freshman year, 200+ hours of community service for chinese school, etc.

Hooks (possibly): aunt graduated from stern, went to school in china for 6 months (common app essay topic)

your aunt going to stern means nothing. but I’d say your in looking at those numbers.

Any additional thoughts on me?

@gaborik10
specifically this part "Please note that if you do not wish to borrow the federal loans that may have been offered to you, you can decline them by going to the ‘Accept / Decline Financial Aid’ link in Albert. " was that always there in the to do list?

would u say that im in b/c i applied directly to LSP with stern level test scores?

@rocky12377 Your gpa makes it iffy, I wouldn’t jump to any conclusions with just the act score.
