Mine says downloaded - it means that NYU has downloaded the application :D

Like all of you I’m also unfortunately obsessed with checking this thread. I’m also doing a ton of exercise and watching more than a ton of TV. Anything to distract myself!

I applied to CAS for journalism.

-My commonapp doesn’t say downloaded yet. Anyone whose does- are your names at the beginning of the alphabet? Just wondering, because I’m at the end. I doubt they do it that way though… I wish everyone the best of luck getting through these next few weeks of torturous waiting :)

@PinkPurple95 Cool, I also applied CAS for Journalism!
And yeah, my last name begins with one of the first letters of the alphabet.

ED1
CAS for Politics
Any other political junkies?

@PoliSciSyd - why NYU for politics and not something in DC? Just wondering.

@Marinozai I want to go to NYU Law and I believe I’d have a better chance of getting in if I went to NYU undergrad. I have family in NY and I love the city. Also, NYU has a “study abroad” program in Washington, D.C. so I can do a semester there (fall of 2016, aka Presidential Election). So once I graduate I could potentially have networked in three major US cities (I’m from Los Angeles). I would have more opportunities for jobs/internships in the long-run.

Playing alot of video games, focusing on school work, composing music

I applied to Steinhardts musiic technology
Anyone else? ;)

Anyone applying for Computer Science at CAS?

I sent my IB Diploma to NYU, not my ACT/SAT scores. Will I be at a disadvantage?

@sanjithyerrabli A lot of people that I know submit both their IB Diploma and their SAT/SAT II/AP scores. If your IB is like a 40 then you have nothing to worry about. However, if an SAT could have supplemented a bad IB mark, then yes, you’re at a disadvantage.

@moyera Downloaded really doesn’t mean anything. I applied to Bard College and on my Common App it just says submitted. But when I emailed them, they told me that they received my application.

@VioletAvenger, thank you for replying! My grades are not in the 40’s. They’re in the 30-35’s because I have a tough course load. Will NYU consider the fact that I have a tough course load?

Does NYU have something like Impacted Majors?

@sanjithyerrabali Of this I have no idea. I’m not in the IB program and all my friends who were in the IB program and are now in university are currently asleep. I’ll let you know if I get a reply! :)

@VioletAvenger, thanks!

mine still says “submitted” does that mean they arrnt checking? im really worried I REALLY WANT TO GET IN AND NEVER APPLY FOR COLLEGE AGAIN

@screenfreak - I feel exactly the same way. Mine also still says submitted.

If I don’t get in I’ll be extremely disappointed, partly because I won’t be done with this crazy stressful process!

@sanjit
D applied ED1 to CAS with intent to be a CS major.

I applied to NYU early decision, (CAS) -fingers crossed- but I was just wondering if ALL the decisions for the application are given out on one day? Or can I expect an email earlier than the date they posted on the website? Should I periodically check my NYU home login? (Albert)

All decisions will be released around December 13th - possibly a few hours early, but not by much.
