I probably won’t end up at NYU because of the FA and I don’t get any money from FAFSA because my parents make too much money but not enough to afford NYU :)

But I applied to Stern and I’ll still visit in April if I get accepted

@halflokum so decisions are not coming out on 4/1 after through email but on 4/29 before 4 through albert?

@sarahsjkim, I didn’t say anything about what will or will not happen THIS year. I only provided the actual data about what happened LAST year. Both the Albert notification and emails happened on Thursday 3/29.

I can also say to you that last year, all we knew going into it was the 4/1 date and we were also told that we’d see nothing on Albert until the decision email came out. Neither turned out to be true. BUT that does not mean a single thing about THIS year. Good luck.

@halfokum that’s true, thanks for sharing! Good luck to you too!

@LovetoTravel95 my changed to liberal studies, core program as well!!

Acccepppppteeeeeeeeeedddddddddddddddddd!

Crossing my fingers???

HOPEFULLY!!!

@lilmelonred CONGRATS!!

@Love2Travel95 me too!! my fa didnt change, i applied to NYU Cas as an econ major and now it changed to liberal studies core program >< ugh i hope this isnt a bad sign…im not gonna get all excited over it though ;p

i think im getting excited too early…its just that i found out about the program after i applied, and thought that it was a good fit for me, but i thought i had no hope since i never filled out the extra short answers.

Wait how are you accepted already?! Congrats though! Assuming you’re telling the truth haha

Mine has not changed yet. I applied to Tisch for Drama and did my audition in late February. It has been said that for Tisch applicants specifically they get an email before the admission decisions are sent out as a keep the date sort of thing for a welcome weekend… It doesn’t come with an official decision, but everyone that receives that (Usually after March 25) gets accepted to Tisch. I know my audition went well, but I don’t know if my test scores were that good.

Still my audition has not been checked off my requirements list which means they haven’t even reviewed yet so I’m not worried.

@KoreeCat the Tisch welcome weekend invitation did not come before the admission decisions were sent out last year. It came out afterwards. Maybe if you are international you might get an earlier heads up (and I don’t know if that is true or not) but otherwise, it doesn’t come early.

Your audition status in Albert will read as if you have not auditioned right up until the end. It doesn’t ever change because they do not populate that field. I know it is confusing (it confused us last year too).

I think if your program changes to the liberal studies program it means they rejected you from your first NYU choice and are now reviewing you as a LSP applicant :/

@halflokum I knew the invitation was just a rumor, but was hoping it was true. Boo. And thanks for the info about the audition. Did your FA change last year?

@KoreeCat it wasn’t entirely a rumor. Years ago that invitation did come before the acceptance letter but I just wanted you to know that last year it did not. I would assume it won’t this year either.

The FA thing I really think is a red herring. Yes it changed but I seriously think everyone is reading way too much into it. But I can’t prove it so believe whatever you need to. Everyone was chattering about it last year but there was never any follow up to whether it was true or not. NYU is supposed to be need blind so admissions and financial aid processes are separate so one would assume the departments work independently from each other. But as I said, I can’t provide you with any evidence one way or the other so believe whatever you feel you must.

If any of you have FA that never changes and you do get rejected, can you do future generations a favor and make it abundantly clear that this is what happened? Or if it did change and you are also rejected, that would be good to know too. Otherwise you can set your watch by this rumor heating up next year once again. Good luck to everyone. Cool school.

We did a pledge thread for ED II, and it supports the financial aid theory…Cruel, but the correlation is definitely there.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/new-york-university/1460258-nyu-edii-fa-change-result-disclosure-pledge-thread.html

Has anybody here had their FA change and is from Southern California?

@nyuclassof2017 the EDII FA change data is compelling. I’d like to see a few more examples of no change = denied but I agree it does give one pause. I’m really surprised that they don’t shut down this “tell” if it is indeed one.

For all of you though whose FA has not changed yet, there were plenty of people whose status changed long before my daughter’s did. Hers didn’t move until very close to decision time. I’d assume it isn’t over until it’s over.

LOL. haha well I applied to the NYU’s school of engineering (poly) and got accepted already.
