Lilmelonred, where do you live and what time today did you receive the acceptance email?

LOLL actually, i got it long time ago… I got into the poly school of engineering :stuck_out_tongue:

But uhm My friend got rejected from NYU CAS. I think she got hers tonight.

so are the rejection letters coming out tonight?

I think she’s NYU Poly. They notified differently I think.

Well congratulations on NYU Poly!

As for the rest of us, we are totally finding out tomorrow.

So far, yes. Only rejections tonight. Keep the info coming guys, it gives us something to so while we bite our nails off waiting!

@proudmomx2: yeah NYU poly sends them out in batches

@Galindathegood: Thanks! They hosted a dinner tonight too for scholars recipients and it was good!

Congrats lilmelonred!

Lilmelonred, is NYU your first choice?

Thanks proudmomx2 :)

@insanemom: Cornell was my first choice but got rejected so oh wells. this does leaves to RIT or NYU. Might consider Syracuse since I got great aid from them! But hey getting an NYU degree isn’t so bad ;)

All great choices. Congrats and good luck!

for those of y’all who wanted to see the email, this is what I got…

Dear xxxxxx,

Please know that the admissions committee at New York University carefully considered you for any and all campuses, schools, colleges, and programs you expressed an interest in through your application materials. Unfortunately, it is with regret that we are unable to offer you admission to any of our campuses this year. I am so sorry about the disappointing news.

Your application and supporting credentials were given full consideration. As you likely suspect, we receive more applications from exceedingly qualified students than we are able to admit each year. Unfortunately, even though students may be clearly competitive for admission based on their academic records and their test scores, we are only able to admit a small percentage of qualified students given the space we have available.

Given the volume of applications we receive each year, please understand that we regrettably cannot respond to appeal requests and we cannot reconsider your application this year. You can certainly re-apply for admission as a transfer candidate to our campus in New York, should you matriculate elsewhere next fall, but we cannot reconsider your application for any programs or campuses until then and we cannot evaluate any new credentials or materials at this time.

Again, I am sorry for the disappointing news. My experience shows that the vast majority of students who are delivered similar news – myself included, as I was not admitted to my own first choice university more than 20 years ago – go on to have a wonderful university experience.

On behalf of NYU, I wish you only the best as you continue your education.

Sincerely,

Shawn L. Abbott

Assistant Vice President for Admissions

Looks familiar…probably because I’ve gotten about ten of those already. Haha cries tears of agony

Wow that’s a really thoughtful rejection letter lol

@lolzwerehad

I was about to say that!! Haha… (crying inside)

Lolzwerehad, me too. Looks so familiar.

Have to admit, you can’t help but love the letter a little. I also got rejected from BC, but that’s it

I Know it may sound strange, but I actually like NYU’s rejection letter, in comparison to northwestern and uchicago’s of course. The other two brought up the increase in applicants this year, which I really don’t want to be reminded of because, you know, I was rejected. This one was kind of nice.
