NYU (NY) RD 2017 Discussion

Accepted to CAS! My email came at 3:48 PM EST and my last name begins with C, not sure if it matters but there you go.

Got a sizable scholarship but the amount of loans is still pretty high…we’ll see what happens. It’s not my first choice but I still definitely wouldn’t mind going!

I got my email at 3:15 and my last name starts with a “T” btw

Guys, the decisions are being sent in waves, possibly until April 1st.

My name also starts with a T!
Anyone know why some of us were put into the Core/Liberal Studies program rather than the school that we applied to?

I just got my email. As I said before, I got into LSP, but I will be starting off on the NYC campus  YAY!

Didn’t get an email yet but I went on albert and got the admissions offer button and got into NYU Stern with a little $1000 scholarship! Woo! I think the theory is true. I had the 2014 Award Access Not Available! Good Luck All!

Accepted to CAS! Checked Albert to see my acceptances around 4PM. Got an email from NYU on my decision like 5 min later lol.

Got a nice scholarship, but with my household’s low income, I don’t know if I should use up all the money at NYU, or go to my safety school with a full ride…

I got waitlisted.

For those of you who are anxious:

My fa status was never changed and same goes for my app status. I didn’t see any box with “2014” or decline/accept botton.

I simply got an email explaining that I am on a waitlist.

Oh well.
The only college I got accepted to is UF. Got waitlistd here and Dartmouth. Rejected by USC, Vanderbilt, Yale, Cornell, Duke and Northwestern. Waiting on Stanford… ahhh

I am a FL resident, Asian, income of $13000. Yes I am poor. EFC was 0 anyway…

Oh and if anyone can explain, what do the “offered” and “accepted” columns mean when you view your financial aid?

It just looks like “accepted” doesn’t include all of the loans.

I got in and my fin aid thing had turned into the 2014.

waitlisted! do you guys know if most people get off waitlist?

Wait listed. I quit.

ACCEPTED TO STEINHARDT
email@ 4:33 pm

is it just me or has NYU been oddly generous with its financial aid this year?

I still haven’t heard anything. so stressful >.<

I don’t understand how they decide CAS vs. LSP. My daughter’s stats are higher than several on here who got into CAS, with rigorous courses, plus she did the NYU precollege, took hard classes, and got A’s. It seems that almost all of her precollege friends got into LSP as well. I’m trying to talk her into attending UCLA instead, but so far, even though she’s pretty devastated about LSP, it’s not working. If she had gotten into CAS I would have fully supported her going to NYU, but with NYU costing us approx. $18000 more per year, I don’t know if it’s worth it.

From what I know… The fact that since Poly is officially merged with NYU, FA has been generous for all NYU kids i think. Idk they said with the merge has made FA better for everyone

would $40k in scholarship/grant be considered a higher amount than average in financial aid?

Has anyone gotten the email saying their admissions decision is on the way AND gotten the actual admissions decision email and/or an Albert update?

I’m thinking maybe I got that email saying my decision is on the way because I’m not going to get it this weekend. I hope not because I want to know!

Wait listed! The Gods of College sure love making me wait… No Financial Aid change, applied to CAS for math… Also a Gates finalist so I hope that will be a contributing factor in letting me in! Just hate having to wait yet another four months to know where the hell I’m going exactly. Wait list decisions won’t be out until before July 1st, apparently.
