For those that were accepted, has your Albert page been updated yet? My application status says “The Office of Undergraduate Admissions is processing your application” and the financial aid still says “award access not available”.

@pyrasical- same thing with me. Although i applied through HEOP.

@pyrasical

I was accepted via snail mail yesterday, and I still haven’t gotten an email or Albert update

I got all my info updated on Albert.

Does anybody know if the financial aid we’re given is meant to last all 4 years? I’m pretty happy with the package I was given and it’s eliminated cost as a factor for my decision to NYU. However, if this is only for freshman year, then I’m not so sure…

Holy crap… Accepted to Stern… 51 grand a year… Speechless… Is this real life…

@Danimals510: I emailed the a couple days ago asking the same question with a picture of my financial aid award but haven’t heard back yet. On their website it says the following:

Typically you will continue to receive for subsequent academic years the amount of scholarship you received for your first year (subject to the availability of funds), as long as the following criteria are met:

You are a full-time student (at least 12 points).
You applied for financial aid on time.
You are meeting the Satisfactory Academic Progress standards.
You have approximately the same amount of financial need that you had in prior years.

@taylortrip congrats! it looks like nyu has finally began to change its financial aid policy for the better… if you don’t mind me asking, what’s your family’s income bracket?

I heard NYU got a lot of money when its property started increasing in value, maybe they’re finally putting it in good use.

@foeverhard i received the same email, and still didn’t get my decision packet. Did u get it ??

D got waitlisted @Stern. What is the chance of being accpted. Thanks.

[li] Major Awards (USAMO, Intel etc.): None
[/li]

[/ul]Subjective:[ul]
[] Extracurriculars (place leadership in parenthesis):
News Editor, School Paper (VERY legit, weekly, printed like a real paper, everything; 15hrs a week)

Varsity Debate, 2 years
Few other clubs
[] Job/Work Experience: Working in school library archives a few hours a week
[] Volunteer/Community service: Negligible

[li] Interview: None
[/li]

[/ul]Other[ul]
[] State (if domestic applicant): NJ

[/ul]Reflection[ul]
[] Strengths: Upward trend in grades, esp. in humanities classes. SAT I
[] Weaknesses: SATII. Seriously, who has a D+ on their transcript?!?
[] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: NYU really loves kids from my school. Additionally, I do have a decent upward trend, pretty good recs, etc.
[] Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected:

A: Michigan (waiting on ross PA), UNC, Wesleyan, NYU shanghai, Yale-NUS
WL: Wash U (Olin), Cornell (AEM 1st choice, ILR 2nd choice), Carnegie Mellon (Priority @ Tepper), Georgetown (McDonogh; triple legacy, would probably have been rejected otherwise)
R: Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Dartmouth, Penn (Wharton), Columbia (ED Reject) Chicago (Defer-Reject), Middlebury, Vandy, UVA, Williams

[/ul]General Comments:
Choosing between UNC, Wesleyan, and Stern. For a kid just barely in the top half of his class with exactly 0 APs, not too shabby. Btw, I was rejected by BPE but got into the regular B.S. for business at Stern (not at all displeased; probs would have dropped out of BPE anyway).

Congratulations to the NYU class of 2017 (or there around), especially the future Tischies. It was one of the greatest times of my life being at NYU, and I wish you all the absolute best at your new home!
