NYU or Boston University

Right now I'm deciding between these two. NYU may sounds better but I've been accepted to the Core program. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I would say that your major/intended career plays a big factor in your decision, but that your preferences concerning student life and/or curriculum should also be considered (especially since you’ve been accepted into NYU’s Core Program). I was also accepted to both (although I didn’t apply for the CP), and even though I decided not to attend either, I preferred NYU overall even though BU was offering substantially more FA (another major factor to consider). I’m not into sports and so NYU’s lack of a “campus” didn’t bother me at all, but it might be problematic for others. I also didn’t like that BU seemed to constantly be in the shadow of Harvard and MIT, even though it’s a fantastic school with world-renown programs.

Also, this thread might be of some help: <a href=“NYU vs. BU - Theater/Drama Majors - College Confidential Forums”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/theater-drama-majors/691526-nyu-vs-bu.html</a></p>

BU is going to have a more defined campus than NYU. Everyone says that BU has no real campus but the campus is continuous and essentially on a single street you just have the T and a highway running through it. BU also has more of a sports scene than NYU but still a relatively small one with hockey having some presence on campus but most students aren’t going to show up to any sporting events. If you NYU name drop in NYC as opposed to BU name drop to someone random in Boston then people are going to be more impressed in NYC if that matters to you. Can you give any more info on what your studying and why you like both?

NYU is a much stronger school with much better programs and has a much better reputation. Cost is a concern though, as NYU is very expensive. If they are priced the same, NYU is a no-brainer.
