How important is money? Is the difference in cost going to break the bank for you/your parents?

Unless money is a huge issue, take NYU.

NYU is superior to BU in almost all areas.

my parents dont mind paying...after all it's their daughter's future...but yea im definately considering NYU rite now

OK, I was accepted GSP NYU,and into the COM program BU. I'm thinking
COM at BU--I receive no financial aid -what do you think? btw, I love
boston.

.

BUMP...please help

yea similar dilemma for me too... i got into bu and nyu gsp. im most likely going to bu because of the fact that i got a lot of financial aid for the school and also because i feel like if i go into gsp, i'll be tied down with classes that i dont want to take for my first two years (although i understand that there are core classes for regular schools as well). plus, it seems like for gsp, im on academic probation or something like that.. i agree that a 3.0 doesnt seem like a lot to me now bc im used to getting grades much higher than that, but it's hard to predict how i'll actually do next yr---whether the adjustment into college will be hard for me or if circumstances beyond my control make it difficult for me to maintain that gpa. you can never predict what will happen!

nyu was one of my top choices, but i was talking to my mom about this the other day, and we came to the conclusion that nyu is an amazing school.. it has a good name and its programs esp in business are great, but it might be more worth it to go to a less expensive but still decent school. yes, bu may not have as good of a name as nyu, but in the end it doesnt really mean anything. plus, if you can get scholarships from bu, it may be more worth it because the money you save from not going to nyu (where you may get very little financial assistance) may be used later on if you decide to go to grad school.

kudos to all of you who decide to go to nyu... you should be proud bc its a really good school! i just think that it may not be worth it to have an enormous amount of debt when you graduate and esp for you gsp-ers, that it's too much of a risk to take with such a large amount of money. i want my parents to have money in order to live comfortably without having to take out of their savings!

also, if you really decide that you want to experience nyu life, just go to nyu for grad school bc their programs are great for that too!

the options are endless... it doesnt really matter what you choose because it's all what you make of it. im sure that everything will be okay in the end, because if its not okay, then its not the end. plus, if you really decide that you hate it at bu/nyu/etc...., theres always the option of transferring. just go where you think youll be happiest because thats the most important thing.

dont worry so much! just have faith that youll make the right choice, and its not the end of the world if you choose the wrong school. and dont forget that college is only four years of your entire life... you have to think a little beyond those four years. good luck to all of you!

Exactly what else do you need to know about NYU vs. BU?

i need to know about nyus pre med program compared with bu's...i havent really heard anything about nyus program yet.

NYU's acceptance rate for those undergrads. who apply to med. school is more than twice the national average...among the best there is. For those with GPAs over 3.5, the med. school acceptance rate is close to 100%. Also, NYU undergrad. is the biggest feeder school into NYU med. schol

NYU pre-med is top notch. For example: I know someone who transferred from Yale pre-med to NYU pre-med because it was an overall better program.
