NYU or Rutgers for international relations?

Hi all,

I am a New Jersey student considering NYU and Rutgers (I have been accepted to both). These are my choices because they offer Mandarin as a major. However, I would like to double major in International Relations as well.
I feel like NYU’s program for international relations is probably better, but do you think Rutgers’ program is respectable, or comparable, even? I’m just trying to weigh my options, considering how large a price difference the schools have.

Also, I would like to work in the government, especially the State Department. Is an international relations major a good track to take, or would a different major be better?

Thanks in advance.

I think though Rutgers program will be slightly less prestigious than NYU but is still decent. How much cost difference are we talking about?
