hear back from nyu or chapel hill yet?

if not..when?

unc-chapel hill - starting april 22 or 25.. one or the other, i forget

nyu - starting may 15

If you get into these two go to UNC! I've spent alot of time at both places and unless you have a compelling reason to go to NYU (like acting, film, etc), go to UNC. Socially UNC is a 9/10 while NYU is a 1/10

how about nyu for business? -_-

I guess that would also be compelling enough to choose NYU over UNC. Wow, socially night and day here. UNC is one of the the best college experiences and in my opinion NYU is one of the worst college experiences.

i don't know why, but nobody around here really knows much about or even applies to UNC-Chapel Hill :T

i dunno, maybe because its in north carolina?

well, they know all of the other top public schools that are far away, such as michigan, berkeley, ucla, uva.

i have to disagree, nyu is the ****.

if i got in, i would pick it over harvard.

(most of my friends from the old days go there, and ill be closer to my gf)

all the reasons to go there

haha right.. we'll all go to nyu because we'll be closer to YOUR gf and most of YOUR friends from the old days go there.

sorry, but i'd pick harvard over nyu and unc-ch without even blinking.

as for NYU -vs- UNC-CH, i'd have to go with NYU because of it's better location and better business school. even though it ranks lower in US News, NYU seems to be more prestigious and more people know about it all around the country.

I'd pick Carolina over the rest because I'm moving down there this summer. It would suck going to RU-new brunswick out of state.

u should go there for my friends and my gf. they kick ass.

tough decision. it all depends on whether you truly love the city, and not just that, but whether your someone who is independant, one who doesn't need the traditional campus, the spirit, nor the sports games. If you can say yes to everything that was mentioned, then go to Stern. I'm having a great time here @ NYU, however I've discovered that by not having the 'traditional college experience,' I feel as if I'm missing something in my education that ought to be there. I have many friends who've already jumped into decent internships, and I know simply the name will get you far if you want a job up north. You can't have any doubts though. I know of MANY freshman who transferred midyear to much lesser colleges (i.e. my roommate who transferred to west conn.), or who are applying to transfer, because they need the kind of community NYC cannot provide them (and I know A LOT of pple being as active at NYU as I am). So for business ,NYU in my opinion is better... you just have to be 100% certain. Good luck!

Saying "college XXX offers a better college experience than college YYY" is rarely valid... college life is what you make of it. Every college will have its share of potential friends and potential jackarses, and basing your decision on such a factor is dumb. Having said that, NYU is unique in that it does not have a traditional campus, and indeed there seems to be little or no "school spirit." This is one of the reasons I want to transfer out of NYU, especially since my high school placed so much emphasis on building school spirit amongst students.

If you want to go into business (and get in Stern), it would provide a better name-brand for your future.
