NYU or Vanderbilt?

I m currently a sophomore in a private univ.(in upstate NY) which ranks around 30...But i transferred this yr.
Till now I got into Vandy, still waiting for NYU CAS(I think its not very hard for me), Penn, Northwestern and some other schools.
Im just worrying bout if i only get into vandy and NYU, which i should choose...
My major is East Asian Studies(or Japanese) and Econ(I was triple major in math, econ and japanese before but not i feel like thats too much for me).
I m looking forward to find a bilingual job related to finance in NYC or probly further my education in Stern or Columbia bussiness sch(if i could get in)
Hows vandy's reputation in NY state? I know its a great school but does it fit me better than NYU?
Thank you!

I think I will be transferring to the the univ. you are attending haha. Anyways, obviously, Vandy is not as well known as NYU here in NYC but it has a good reputation like you said. And employers in finance should recognize the name. If you are majoring in Econ, I believe NYU has a slightly better econ department than Vandy. If you are hoping to do internships during the school year, attending NYU will also make it easier to do that. But it really depends on whether you want a traditional campus or a city campus.

Thanks!! I just heard that Vandy has a pretty good reputation(No matter in South part or even NY state) so dont know which is better…

In terms of finance, NYU Stern is better than Vandy. However, I would say that Vanderbilt Econ is better than NYU Econ in terms of placement. If you have a 3.6+ from Vanderbilt, then you’ll probably end up in NYC.

Really? Oh wow I m just not sure Vandy’s reputation in NY…but thanks!

I asked opinions of my friends about Vandy, they agrreed that they would rather go to NYU, because of its location. Also, from the networking opportunities, as a school I’m NY, I’m sure you will have more chance to get involved in those networking activities held by your school. Believe me, a good network could land you to a good internship and job in the future.

thank you! Ummm I m still waiting for NYU actually
