It's such a small school and I was just accepted and wondering if anyone else has yet!

According to my friends a year below me that haven’t graduated HS yet, most of the people accepted so far have been the big scholarship holders, so i think this might be a time when you deserve some kudos

oh haha, well thank you!

Hello, were those who got accepted notified through the e-mail address that they were given or by snail mail?

Nope! I didn’t get an acceptance email in my regular email or my Poly email. They sent me a letter in the mail regarding my acceptance, although they also did send out a mass email today to currently accepted students about giving your first deposit.

Don’t worry though, they don’t send letters all out at the same time (rolling admission) so you could be notified tomorrow, next week, next month, you never know!

Oh well that’s more comforting. I just got that deposit email today so I guess I was accepted lol. I didn’t get any other notifications.

Haha yeah, did your email have like a student ID number in it (towards the bottom)? If it does you prob got accepted

Yes it did have my student ID number in it. My first college acceptance hahaha. Congrats to you for getting accepted as well.

I got a letter in the mail last week! I’m gonna be in the CS program.
I actually have a question if anyone knows the answer. I was really excited to get 20,000 a year for my Promise Scholarship, but I’m a little concerned that I didn’t receive anything about the Honors college. I know it’s invitation only, so has anyone heard back about that yet? Or does some committee review the accepted students and choose from that?
I’m be happy just to have gotten in; I’d just love the extra money.

Haha yay DJPolymer!

And DoubleMold, I’m gonna be in the CS program as well and I also got around the same scholarship, but I didn’t receive any info for the Honors college. Their website is not entirely clear upon who gets notified when, but here’s what I’ve read so far:

[Selection Process | NYU-Poly](<a href=“Home | NYU Tandon School of Engineering”>Home | NYU Tandon School of Engineering)

Maybe you need to put in your initial “yes, i’m going to your school” deposit in order to be considered for the program?

Are any of you girls? Lol I’m a girl and I’m worried I’m going to be unique in this aspect on campus…

Yeah, if I attend Poly I’d be CompE. But the m:f ratio does suck. However, it has been getting better in the past years and I hope that trend continues.

<<< not a girl

Yeah haha I hope it continues too, & maybe i’ll see you if you decide to go!

I’m a guy too, but I’m not too worried about the lack of girls. It’s New York City; they’ll be around. Just not in any of my classes.

hey, i got the email saying that I can submit deposit and confirmation of attendance for Fall 2011 on Feb 8 too. Does this really mean I am in? I can’t be sure yet because there is no acceptance letter

Also accepted. And I got an email a few days ago asking me to submit my deposit, before I got an acceptance letter lol. Got the acceptance today, along with the $20,000/ year scholarship. I didn’t get anything about the honors program though :/. I won’t be able to go there without the additional 20-30k per year honors scholarship.

Like Mathemagician said, you get an email asking for a deposit and then an acceptance letter in the mail. So congratulations Vinsanity! Hope to see you there.

Now I’m really hoping that Honors acceptances get sent out after regular acceptances. I guess this is the kind of thing I should call admissions about.

The one thing I want Poly to keep in the merger is its financial aid. It’s not perfect, but it’s way better than NYU’s. Anyone else worried about losing aid their junior year or something like that?

I just got my acceptance letter as well and am happy to receive the $20,000/year Promise scholarship.

I still haven’t got anything from them about the Honors thing. I might call them tomorrow to ask! & yeah DoubleMold, I’m really worried about that. My admissions interviewer said that it’s probably that we’ll be fully merged in our junior year, but I’m thinking they may allow those who were admitted during the merging process to keep their initial fin aid while those who were accepted after the merging process to get NYU aid.

If you’re being considered for the honors college, you’ll see a line or two of fine print stating that your application’s been forwarded to the honors office. It’s by invite only…

And remember, a girlfriend is pretty much a 10 minute subway ride away every time if my friends’ situations are indicative of anything XD
