Hi guys, so my dream would be to be able to attend nyu stern but i do not think i can afford it if i get in...but then i came across NYU polys business and tech management major..can someone tell me about that that knows about it? how is it? what does it comprise of? it struck me as very interesting but i'm sort of confused...is this a business major? an engineering major? and how would it look to potential employers? How will NYU-Polys generous merit/aid be affected by the upcoming merger on jan 1 2014? My stats are 92 UW with high rigor courses and a 1470/1600 sat so i think i would get some good aid. can i get some thoughts?

Hi! I am attending NYU Poly and I can answer your question. So basically Business and Technology Management does have some relation with Stern. I know BTM kids who take classes at Stern. If you like business and technology, you will enjoy BTM major at Poly. If you want to know more about BTM major at Poly take a loook here.

Even with NYU merger, I believe Poly will be the only NYU school that’s willing to give out great aid/ scholarships. With that SAT score you could receive around 20K scholarship a year.

@lilmelnored do you know if the degree will be under NYU by the time i graduate 2018? i find this major very interesting im just wondering if it is worthwhile to pursue poly. If i apply to poly can i still apply to stern?

[Schools and Colleges](Schools and Colleges)

Since Poly is listed as one one of the NYU Schools and Colleges, my understanding is that 2014 enrolments (Class of 2018) will be conferred an NYU-Poly degreee like the other schools. For example The Leonard N. Stern School of Business offers B.S., M.B.A., and Ph.D. degrees.

“The Institute (Poly)-- which affiliated with NYU in 2008 and will become the School of Engineering of NYU in 2014 – offers Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, Master of Engineering, and PhD degree programs.”

BUMP, thanks for the info…still need to know if i can apply to both NYU-stern and Poly

bump…

bump… come on people

I think you can. After the merger is completed, you will probably list Stern as your first choice and then Poly as your second choice in the NYU application

thanks! can anyone second this?

After the merger in Jan. 2014, you can put NYU Poly as second choice on the NYU application and put NYU stern as first choice.
