Did he get accepted? :)

Yes he got accepted to the general studies program though.

What were your friends stats? I know someone who is waitlisted and still waiting for a decision.

I’m not sure… He probably has around 1700 SAT with 3.5+ GPA?
What was your friend’s stats? The average admitted SAT score for poly students is 1330 for CR+M. Which is the same as other NYU schools.

I applied to NYU as a math major and got put on the waitlist, but on the waitlist and the original app I said to consider me for NYU-Poly. Today, I just got an email from NYU Poly saying I have been accepted into their BS Mathematics program for Fall 2013. Does this mean I am off the waitlist? and What is the difference between regular NYU’s math program and Poly’s? I can’t wait till they are fully merged because this is really confusing me right now.

Yes you’re technically accepted to NYU. NYU Poly is NYU’s engineering school now. They are merging this January so the math program at poly and CAS are the same because they are planning to overlap some majors that are offered at both schools. If you put “consider me for poly” on the app, that means incase there’s no spot left at CAS for you, if there’s a spot open at poly for you to go. At Poly, they generally take in more people because they want more people to enroll but the standards in getting admitted is the same as other NYU schools. If you are confused, read this. In the end, you’re going to get an NYU degree anyway.

and I believe that of all NYU schools, the school of engineering will give you better FA package.
