NYU Poly - Discussion

Hey guys. I got accepted to NYU Poly '19. Just wondering what you guys think about the engineering school at NYU?

I did some research and saw that it was solid good (although not prestigious) and prepare the grads well for the professions.

Any other opinions?

Anyone get decent financial aid?

My daughter got 22K college of engineering scholarship and a 2 K promise scholarship. Probably not enough-we’d have to take a mountain of loans to pay for it.

What do you think of NYU Poly in terms of its engineering curriculum and location? The fact that it is in Brooklyn makes it sound like a not-so-safe place to be? Do NYU Poly freshmen usually get internship in the summer?

Re: Brooklyn: It’s plenty safe and Poly is in a nice part of Brooklyn anyway

I’m trying to choose between NYU Poly and Purdue, which one is a better option for a comp. sci major? Financial Aid isn’t important for me

I would say it depends on what you intend to do during your summers. NY has an abundance of internships in NYC that may help you get a full time job after undergrad.

@RavenV‌ Is there a list/website to find employers that “like” NYU interns, and a matriculation of what NYU graduates by each class? Thanks!
