NYU Poly or Grove School of Engineering Honors (CCNY)

Hello! I know this question had already been asked but I am having a hard time deciding between NYU poly and CCNY (Grove). I need more info and advice to decide where I should go. I care about the quality of education but the tuition is going to play some role here too. Oh and btw, I am interested in majoring in Mechanical engineering.

For NYU poly: I am getting 18k scholarship plus financial aid combined. That leaves me with about 40k to take out as loan (ahem per year). I heard that it is a very challenging and good school and I am fine with that but is it really worth it to invest such a large amount of money? Will getting a job or interning be easier from graduating from NYU (assuming I do decent)?

For CCNY (Grove): I am getting a $5,000 scholarship. I probably have to pay around 2k per year. Tuition is cheap but I have read reviews on how the school isn’t that good because of the “bad” teachers and the education quality isn’t “good.” I would like to know more about the engineering program there. Do the pros of this school outweighs the pros of poly?

Thanks for helping me out!!

I am in a similar situation, I got into NYU school of arts and sciences, but the tuition was simply too high for me. On the other hand I got a reasonable offer from stony brook University for its biomed engineering program, so its between stony and CCNY grove honors right now for me. Btw did you go the reception on the 16th? I went and I was surprised that so few people went, I wonder how many people got into this program.

NYU Poly is clearly too much and way out of your budget. Unless you and your parents are willing to drown in that debt, take that option off the table. It is NEVER worth it to take out that much in loans.
