Does anyone have any experience at NYU-Poly, specifically in the CS program?

I am considering transferring there and would like some insight on the CS program and area :) thanks

As a transfer, you wouldn’t have housing. That, alone, would cost you about 18k (room&board).
NYU Poly is good and NYU is trying to strengthen it. However, it’s very expensive and it’s not worth it to get into debt for more than the federal level. You can apply but don’t limit yourself to it as it may be unaffordable.

We toured it last summer with my D who is interested in STEM. We were impressed. Facility is great and presentation by their director of admissions was interesting and energetic. Believe he was recruited from admissions office at Stanford. Poly is located across the bridge from NYU’s main campus and is in a nice section of Brooklyn. I think the school will do very well. You could either pursue CS at Poly or through the program offered by NYU’s Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences. Housing might be difficult but I bet NYU has a dedicated housing office to assist. For students, the only way to make NY affordable is by having roommates. Sure they have listings of students looking to share housing.
