To anyone who currently attends NYU Poly or is familiar with their admissions process:
Can you please advise me on what is required to be admitted? Any tips?
What SAT score, grades, classes or anything else are the admission officers for NYU Poly looking for?
What really stands out to them when considering a potential applicant?
Note:
I am in the IB program (International Baccalaureate Program), which is the alternative to the AP program but is more rigorous.
My overall GPA thus far is a 3.5. I am also involved in other extracurricular activities such as Photography and National Honor Society.
As for my SAT, I am taking that soon.
Since my school is more liberal arts oriented and I am considering to apply to NYU poly (which has a deeper focus into tech) since I am interested in computer science, will this affect my chances of being admitted?
shady16, I think those stats are from previous years. After the merger with NYU and starting with the class of 2018, the admissions process has been taken over by NYU. So expect the acceptance and stats to be that of NYU.
For this thread: Make sure to show/tell your interest in computer science in your essays if you don’t have much prior experience in that field, that’s a big factor in the admissions process.
Anybody looking for information should visit my thread. Spread the link around so nobody is misinformed about what is expected at the school of engineering.
I take all SL classes for now (because that’s the system for junior year). However, when I’m a senior next year I am planning on take HL English, HL Biology, and HL U.S History & Gov.
My elective for this year and senior year (next year) is SL Physics.
Hey everyone. I am an international student (indian). I wanna know how does nyu (polytechnic) school consider indian high school grades. Is their any conversion scheme, through which I can get some idea what is my gpa?
Okay. It took me some time to think, should I write this. But yes, I am writing. I know these are common terms, but these are uncommon numbers.
So here I am, being an international student (Indian) with 7, 7.2, and 6 CGPA out of 10 in my first 3 high school years (reading now in final year), i have 2280 in sat 1, 720 in sat physics 700 in maths 1, preparing for chemistry. I know this is weird, but it is fact.
I just wanna know will I ever see myself attending class in NYUPoly and studying for UG course in physics/computer science.
What should I do in this year so that I could see any light of hope creating above the horizon.
Thanks for any review. (Actually, I am improving my language skills, so, if their any remarks regarding this, thanks for that also.)
