NYU Poly?

I just saw that Polytechnic University is now a part of NYU.... How is NYU Poly for Engineering?

It is still very much a commuter school. It's well respected in the NYC area, but tough to get through the program. Poly is usually considered a third tier school.

^^ So many students commute from the Manhattan Dorms to NYU Poly? Are their programs decent?

NYU Poly's dorm is in Downtown Brooklyn, not Manhattan. Don't forget that the merger only ocurred recently, so most of the students came in when it was still Poly and not NYU Poly. These students tend to be local students, commuting from home. I don't know what the demographic is like since the merger though, but I would imagine it hasn't changed much since.

I just looked at NYU's website and it doesn't consider NYU-Poly as one of their schools as I suspected. As far as I know, NYU and Poly are the same institution in name, but operate as separate institutions.

EDIT: I assume NYU and Poly will become more integrated in the future, but it's probably a logistical nightmare to merge 100% all at once.
