This link will give you all the information you need about what you must do as an NYU (or any other school for that matter) undergraduate to prepare for medical school. It is an excellent source of information. You should know that as a pre-med, you are free to major in anything you want, not necessarily a health or science oriented discipline.

Good luck.

Does NYU have an accelerated (6 or 7 year) program that guarantees admission to Medical School?

They used to but it was discontinued within the past year or so.

Ah, alright. Thanks very much.

Anyone whose in CAS can be pre-med if decide they want to attend medical school. Its not a major, but just a course of study to prepare you for medical school and the MCATs. You do not have to apply to be a pre-med if you're already attending NYU, so there are no selectivity issues.

I know that Pre-Medicine is not a "major", per se, but attending a school which offers an accelerated Pre-Medicine program (6/7 year) is important to me.

NYU's BA/MD program, which (as mentioned above) has been discontinued, was an 8 year program not an accelerated program. NYU, then, would not have met your requirement in any case.

6/7 year programs like that aren't "pre med" they are a combined BA/MD program, aka MED. :D
