Hello. I'm a rising senior and I really love NYU. Unlike many of my classmates, I know pretty much which field I want to go into after college.......private equity. That being said, in addition to wanting to be in business, I'm a very good musician and music is one of my passions.

Ultimately, I would love to end up at Stern taking finance classes while taking some music classes on the side. However, I've heard Stern is extremely hard to get into.

I actually just got home from the summer NYU Steinhardt Music Business program and realized that NYU offers a Music Business degree through Steinhardt. From the looks of it, I think getting into that program should be no issue.

I'm contemplating whether I should apply directly to Stern, or have a better chance applying to the Steinhardt music business program and then eventually transferring to Stern?

I currently attend a private college prep school. I have many music extracurriculars, internships, and have started a few successful companies. I got a 35 on the ACT, however, my GPA is only a 3.61 which is what I fear will affect my chances at getting into Stern.

I also plan on applying early decision.

Any ideas or thoughts for me? I appreciate your help!
