NYU ranking next year

With NYU spending some much money on profs and building new facilities, I expect NYU to rise a few spots. What do you think will be NYU's projected ranking on usnews? I'm think very low 30s?

well NYU certainly did raise a few.... numbers for tuition, that is.

NYU is already in the low 30s. it's 34th. let's hope it gets 31st-- before Lehigh

haha, they have increased the acceptance rate. even dumb people can get in easily. so i think its gonna be in the low 50's.

^
I doubt it will drop that low..

Raising the acceptance rate DOES NOT mean NYU will be easier to get in. The reason why the percentage rose this year is b/c more competitive kids applied to NYU.

I'll say it gonna go down

I do not think there is a direct correlation between the acceptance rate going up or down and the school's ranking. Conversely, with applications up and a stable class size you might expect the acceptance rate to drop. It has at Ivy's and other top tier schools. However, given NYU's perceived status/cost arrangement and their financial aid policy and students applying to more and more schools, perhaps NYU felt they had to increase their acceptance ratio to fill the class size they wanted.

Who cares? It's not like anyone can predict it anyway. I'm sure it'll be in the exact same range it's been in the past few years...

Who cares, really? NYU's a great school, it doesn't need US News to validate the value of a BA from NYU.

Care factor = 0.

NYU is the right school for me. A different ranking wouldn't have changed that.

喔 .

这所学校不无论如何是好

Brand 你也是中国人??? And after all this time in the NYU Transfer Thread, haha

我同意!!!
. .

lmao glad to see someone can read simplified chinese.

i can always put it in free translation.com lol

Do you know how schools get ranked?

US News send them a packet of forms to fill out for self-evaluation. That's it.

It's not all self assessment. I believe US News also incorporates Student and peer assessment as well. Still very subjective, but it's definitely not all self assessment.

Instead of competing with other schools within the U.S. for a higher rank, NYU is ambitious enough to expand on a global level... which is the key to success for the next 10 years.

NYU is top 29 world wide http://ed.sjtu.edu.cn/rank/2005/ARWU2005_Top100.htm
