NYU RD 2023

Received an email regarding security breach with college applications site from NYU. They assured us the data is safe.

If only someone could have breached and released decisions early ?

@AggieMom68 Same here.

I got excited, then I realized it was nothing:(

Does anyone know the exact date of when the decision comes out??

I got accepted last year into CAS for biology (UW:3.98,W:4.4, ACT35) and they sent me my acceptance around 4pm on the 28th  Good luck to everyone!!

Did anyone get the “NYU classes” tab on their global home nyu website? it was never there and now its there for me.
this page, scroll all the way down to see : https://shibboleth.nyu.edu/idp/profile/SAML2/POST/SSO?execution=e3s1

@NJMAN2500 Yes, NYU Classes has been there since the beginning, along with Meals and many others.

ohh maybe i never saw it lmao

What is the predicted acceptance rate this year? Have they released that info yet?

@01pabs they don’t release predicted, only actual after the fact. If the number of offers is around the same as last year, then the increased applicant pool will mean acceptance rate falls to just under 17%. They did indicate they plan to take a higher portion of the class from ED so it could be even a bit lower than that. But the official number will probably come out with the RD decisions.

Btw Stern was 8% last year (vs 19% overall) so it makes a big difference whether you’re applying Stern or elsewhere.

Interesting, if Stern was 8%, overall was 19%, then without Stern, overall must be around 25-30% depending on the relative size of Stern to overall.

I’ve only got the actual stern number of applicants for the previous year, where there were 11.7k applicants out of a total 67k applicants; in that year, Stern admit rate was 11% and overall was 27%. So yes Stern is significantly more competitive, but the overall admit rate has dropped much more sharply than that of Stern.

Yes, 2 years ago, their acceptance rate as 33-35%. I heard after that they started adding the other two campuses in overall application numbers. I know Abu Dhabi and Shanghai campuses are even more selective with 2-3 and 5-6% type acceptance number respectively. Stern is top business school for sure.

AD and Shanghai barely move the needle on the overall numbers because they’re such tiny campuses. The main reason the admit rate has been dropping is that application numbers have been surging - I think they’ve something like doubled over 5 years - with around the same number of offers.

Also, two years ago the admit rate was 27%, your numbers are older?

NYU doesn’t do what other schools do where people are accepted into the school for general admission and then a specific school, right? Or does everyone apply for general admissions?

You apply to a specific school (CAS, Stern, etc.)

Yea I’m not getting in smh

Hey, you never know.

I applied to stern?
