Also guys found this on the NYU website, seems like bad news for us as acceptance rates will definitely go down by a lot…
“NYU President Andrew Hamilton today announced that the University received a record-shattering 75,037 applicants for first-year admission, an increase of nearly 12% over last year.”
@flowerNcake No I applied RD and I searched for housing forms on NYU Global Home and clicked in Access application for Summer 2018 because that was the only choice available.
Last year acceptance rate was 27% of 67,000 applicants… approximately 18,000 accepted. If it is true that there were over 75,000 applicants this year, assuming they accept the same number of students, that would leave this year’s acceptance rate at 24%.
I logged onto Albert to check it out. I now have a link to the decision portal which is live. There is no decision of course but it states all decisions will be posted on this portal. I don’t remember seeing this link until today.
@and2018 Where do you see that link? I don’t see one. I did notice this language last night after clicking on “Application Status.” I thought it looked new, but honestly can’t remember if it has always been there:
First year Regular Decision applicants, please see our decision instructions page to check your admissions decision. If you see a purple button above, you can access your decision here.
Actually, that language is definitely new. I had taken a screenshot of that page on March 14, and looking back the language I posted above wasn’t there. We are getting close, everyone. Wouldn’t it be great if they released today…
“Due to required system maintenance, Albert and Albert Mobile will be unavailable from Friday, March 23rd at 9:00pm ET until Saturday, March 24th at 9:00am ET. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.”
Maybe decisons will be posted tomorrow and that’s the cause of the outage.
Ah, now I see @and2018 and @spicynoodles that you were describing a link to the “decision portal.” Looks like that’s the language I posted. Let’s hope for tomorrow, but honestly at this point next week is fine. We have waited so long already. I have serious decision fatigue and will be very happy when all decisions are behind us.
