NYU RD Notification Date

yeah most likely, but that doesnt mean you didnt receive grants or loans…

and david1398- RD kids (most of us) havent heard, we are thinking it will be at the end of the week! It is online for sure, and I assume they will also be sending out letters.
Good luck to everyone!

man, why can’t nyu get their **** together? man… they’re taking longer than IVy Leagues, who do they think they are? Harvard releases decisions tomorrow and NYU have to be the only “awesome” ones to release after the 30th? way to go

I’m going to have to agree with you…this is an unusually long wait. Last year the decisions were released on the 25th. They said on or around April 1st when I called today which is a change from a firm April 1st. This leads me to believe it could be any minute. It makes it quite difficult to plan campus visits etc…even cutting it very close to the accepted students weekend they have planed for the 2nd weekend in April. At least the end is near.

I don’t think NYU is trying to be theatrical and is sitting with the decisions ready to be posted and thinking “let’s make them wait”. You’re delusional if you think that is what they’re doing. NYU has A LOT of applicants, and we should be grateful that the admissions officers are taking their time with each application instead of simply scanning over it.

Chill out. It will be worth the wait, hopefully.

Mango15, you’re right… but Harvard also receives 28,000 applications and has II ED programs and they’re getting on just fine. I get it that NYU has lots of applicants but come on, who takes longer than IVies? Ivies have to scout carefully because they’re most selective…

dandeelion, NYU had 42,242 applicants last year and that number may have gone up this year. They have two ED programs, as well. They also have to look at applicants for their different speciality schools (such as Tisch) and, if the applicant doesn’t get into their first choice major, they will see if the applicant would fit in a different major at CAS. Like Mango15 said, we should appreciate the work they are putting in to make sure each application is read carefully.
And to what you said about Ivies scouting, NYU recruits, too. Yes, it is less selective than the Ivies, but it is still has a competitive application process.
I know waiting is stressful, but it truly is better for them to take their time.

wait wait wait okay

nyu just emailed me about how they’ve offered me the “best possible financial aid package” or whatever but couldn’t offer me any more because my mom is unemployed etc etc. i went on albert and i still wasn’t able to view my financial aid package for the 2013 school year (it changed for me a while back, i know there was a ton of hullabaloo about that at some point).

see but the thing is, i haven’t gotten in yet… whaaa???

^northeastern made a slip like that the day before decisions came out.

Well, congratulations!! If your mom did recently get unemployed and the email was specifically directed towards you (mentioned your name) then this was a slip up and you will get in.

You can breathe! Be excited!

Northeastern did this a day before decisions? Then does that mean NYU is soon?!

dumbcollegestuff, which school did you apply to? and was northeastern’s slip up sent to all students, meaning that it’s likely that NYU sent it out to all accepted students as well?

cnhaynes – i applied to gallatin, but i also checked the button that said they could put me somewhere else if they want. fingers crossed hardcore for gallatin though.

Well congratulations, dumbcollegestuff! I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you, too. Is NYU your first choice?

why thank you!

whelp, i want to do video game design, which is easiest to do at nyu through gallatin. i also got into the engineering school at uc santa cruz, where their game design major is located. i’m still waiting on my usc school of cinematic arts decision as well. but i’m also on the waiting list for uchicago, which i did not expect at all (it was the only “reach” school i applied to haha). i love the school, but there’s not exactly a lot of interactive media going on there… but i also got into emerson and lewis and clark, and i’m waiting on barnard and reed as well.

that was probably way more in-depth than it needed to be, sorry. depending on my decision/financial aid packages from nyu and usc, i’ll probably end up going to one of those two or ucsc… how about you, cnhaynes?

As a small town girl from southern state, I’d really like to be in NYC. I applied to the CAS as a Bio major with a preprofessional focus in medicine. I’m really nervous! I didn’t apply to any reach schools, but I’m in at UC San Diego (whoo UC system! haha), Boston University, Penn State University Park, and a few others. I’m really up in the air about where I’m going to go. And the anticipation is slowly killing me!

cnhaynes, re your question a few posts back, the Northeastern slip was to one person I know of on that board, but not to many at all. My kid was accepted and we did not get the slip up. So if you get it, I think it means something, but if you don’t, I think it means nothing.

Thank you, mrky! I was beginning to worry. Congratulations to your child on his acceptance to Northeastern!

So I realized last week that NYU decisions were coming out very soon, and I’ve been pretty nervous about it since then! I was looking through this thread and people were talking about changes to Albert, so I checked mine and under my Application Status it says that they are processing my application to Liberal Studies Core Program, even though I applied to CAS. Whaaa? So does this mean I wasn’t accepted to CAS? Am I accepted to LSP? So confused!
It also said that it was processing my application to NYU Abu Dhabi, but like I said, I applied to CAS… AGHHH.

I think that if you weren’t accepted into CAS they send your application to LSP if you told them to do that on your application. I told them that they could, but it doesn’t mention that on my Albert. So does that mean i was straight up accepted into CAS? Or was I so bad that they never forwarded the application to LSP? lol

See, my application status doesn’t say anything about CAS, and I thought all of the LSP people were already notified…

lauren, I’m in a similar position
I applied to Tisch for film and it changed a few days ago to LSP. I have no idea why we weren’t notified with the LSP batch though…
