NYU Regular Decision 2018 Discussion

@sarahchristine,

It’s okay :slight_smile: I’m really nervous about the result… it’s around 1am, and I can’t sleep :frowning:

So what time range can I expect Stern replies

denied stern. 2270 SAT single sitting, 800 math II, 760 chem. international.

so that’s 4 denies, 1 accept to UCLA haha oh well

Applied to Stern, and just got wait-listed. Surprised I didn’t get an outright rejection.

GPA: 3.98/4.27
SAT: 1940
No SAT subjects

Rejected to stern - 3.8/34 ACT

Rejected from Tisch… here’s my film-- <a href=“Family Tradition: A Short Film - YouTube”>Family Tradition: A Short Film - YouTube;

Rejected from Tisch as well, @daniellehorowitz.

I didn’t go in to audition because there was a problem with my application and they didn’t tell me until it was too late for an in-person in Chicago so I had to video chat. I’m sure that took me down a little bit. Then I also didn’t get what I wanted on the ACT, so…

GPA: 3.89/4.23
ACT: 29/30 Superscore
-English: 36
-Math: 30
-Reading: 27
-Science: 27
No APs until senior year (probably also a large determining factor)
Only applied to New School–only wanted to be considered for MT

Wait Listed from LAS

GPA: 3.5/3.79
ACT: 31/33 Superscore
4 APs

Waitlisted to the College of Nursing (shame I switched from CAS and I feel like I would have had a better chance at admission) oh well, I’m still happy :)

Waitlisted for STERN :smiley: 34 ACT, 43 IB predicted.

Do you think there will be more Stern waitlist/rejections waves? Haven’t heard anything yet from Stern

oh my god. still waiting on stern, so scared. Are you guys sure that they send rejection/waitlist in waves and then acceptances?

So which decisions have already gone out? And where can you check?

Waitlisted Tisch Clive Davis ReMu
GPA: 3.8
ACT: 31

Can those who have already receieved their decisions confirm that they are international students? this would support the EDII theory

Waitlisted CAS
3.65 U/W
34 ACT

@johnkim614 I’m OOS, not international

What are the waitlist stats? How many get waitlisted and how many end up getting in?

Since the rejections are going out in the morning, does that mean that if we survive without receiving an email until 3PM we are accepted?

@Smstedman3 “This year, we extended a wait list offer to roughly 15% of the total applicant pool.”

Waitlist acceptances are very inconsistent. some years had no offers, while another year had about 100 or so. It depends on how many spots are available for your major/alternative major after May 1.
