FOR PEOPLE WHOSE FINANCIAL AID STATUS SAYS “Award access not available.”:
Call the financial aid counselor and give them your university number (the one that starts with N###…). I found out that I forgot to add NYU as a school to my FAFSA and so they told me what to fix and got it resolved.
School: Steinhardt as education major (1st choice) w/30k scholarship

Recs: 9/10 counselor’s rec was very good. 11/10 history teacher, I was his favorite student. maybe like 7/10 for precalc
My SAT score? whack. My essays? whack. My GPA? not even gonna go there. thank god I had my ECs to save me
I am officially the person with the lowest stats at my school to get into nyu. I got rejected from basically every school (even BU) except my safety, and waitlisted at URichmond. This was the last school I was waiting to hear back from…
My advice? Take your chance threads with a grain of salt. I used to sit in front of the computer for hours reading CC posts while I should’ve been doing homework and would post numerous chance me threads. They’re literally so embarrassing now that I look back at it. So for all you people who are about to apply to college, close your CC tab right now and go study lol. Also don’t try to join 100 clubs. Just choose 1 and 2 and let those be your focus. Lastly, don’t let anyone say you have “no shot” at ____ college.
I’m the most unemotional person ever so why are there tears coming out of my eyes right now…
idk what to do now. The only college that I’m waiting for is Stanford and that’s all crapshoot. I only got into UIUC for DGS and Minnesota’s Liberal Arts College. I got waitlisted at CMU and Penn State. Idk what to do I really want to do computer science
@Penelope88 I was accepted to Tisch for Dramatic Writing but already committed to USC SCA, Writing for Screen & Television. I’ll go in and ‘decline’ the offer from NYU – maybe it will open a spot on the waitlist?
@indiahyland i put my university # in my notes on my phone when i submitted my application a couple months back but they should have emailed you it i think so check your spam/trash/inbox. and no but i am still eligible for financial aid i think and they told me to check back in a couple weeks or in may after they receive my fafsa cause i JUST added the school and resubmitted it lol.
@cgb2017 Maybe. But in the past they accepted up to 50 and had around 30 accept. I think that’s their expectation. But it would be great to slide in from the waitlist! Good luck to USC! (PS…I got that letter a few weeks ago too.)
