Having acceptances from 10 schools is kind of silly. You are probably the reason why so many of us are on waitlists
@jh1868
1540 SAT
34 ACT (twice), 35 Superscored
800 Math II, 720 US History
3.8 UW, 4.4 W w/ 14 AP Classes
My essays were decent at best. I’m definitely not a good enough writer to call them outstanding or anything.
National Merit Finalist
A decent amount of leadership roles in ECs including honors societies/club leadership/learning of both French and German for four years and starting an app development company with a friend where which we pitched a few ideas and prototypes to the Georgia Board of Education. I mention these because they were my more impressive ECs and what I think were my “hooks” for B-School, but I had other business related and non-business related ECs.

Considering all of the other schools I’ve gotten rejected from/ waitlisted at, I pretty much expected nothing to come from NYU, especially because I applied to Stern. My GPA has a pretty noticeable downward trend throughout my junior and senior years, so that’s likely why a lot of my decisions did not turn out as I would’ve liked. Hopefully, this is helpful to you or at least somebody else out there! Good luck getting off the waitlist; I wish you the best and I truly hope to see you at NYU next year!
Omg accepted bless !!! Gallatin (it’s lit lmao & also anyone else accepted to gallatin?) 33 ACT/3.98 UW 4.25 W gpa
@ak1999 For people whose families have never really experienced the college process before, it’s hard to know what school’s are reach, target, safety or how you really feel about urban/rural. It’s still difficult for those who have experienced it. For instance, my mom and I really didn’t know what to do, and we were getting all types of advice, but now I know I should’ve applied to 5 instead of 10. Stay cool, bud. It’ll be fine.
Accepted to Steinhardt! Not sure whether I’ll attend because I’m an international student who has hardly been anywhere in America So I’m going to have to rely heavily on other people’s opinion…
Anyway, stats!
Chinese-Indonesian International student, female, upper middle class, 40/45 predicted IB, 1860 (SAT old) 1320 (SAT new), pretty good common app essay, pretty decent why NYU essay, I couldn’t see my recs but my teachers & counselor liked me so that’s good, extra currics are pretty good (International debate competition for 2 years in Singapore, Malaysia, and America (Yale University) where i won medals & trophies for individual & team, business elective (conferences, making own company + branding, bank workshops), president debate club, co-founder & chief editor of school magazine club, book club, red cross, other volunteer work, internship (local television company & start-up magazine company))
Tbh I had a feeling I would be accepted but now I’m surprised that I got accepted because a lot of people have higher stats than I do lol.
Accepted: UC San Diego, Boston College, Boston University, NYU, Fordham, Pepperdine, University of Washington at Seattle, UC Irvine
Waitlisted: UCLA
Rejected: UC Davis, Northwestern, UC Berkeley, USC
Congrats to everyone who got in! But for me, I’m super confused
Waitlisted! I am actually pretty happy since I didn’t think I had any chance whatsoever. And hey, being waitlisted means they think you can still handle the academics there. : ) I’m not gonna RSVP just because even if I did get in, it would still be too expensive. Looks like I’ll just be visiting Fordham today then.
My financial aid portal only shows my scholarship but no federal aid, will NYU be sending out financial aid packets later on??
@invent0210 @nyuhope17 Sorry but the rumor is not true because several kids were also able to see it but were wait-listed or rejected.
however, congrats on your acceptance!
Accepted; anyone else doing the global liberal studies program?
Oh, forgot to post here, I was accepted at CAS for economics. 35 ACT(Single Sitting), 3.81 UW GPA. Really excited.
Sorry for repeating the same questions as others, but is there a groupme or Facebook page I could join?
Guys, should I send my midterm report and third quarter grade to NYU? I got a comibination of Bs and As. I don’t think it is good, but should I send it?
@JTCREIGHTON99 please do not apologize for the number of schools that you applied to. There is no magic number when applying. If people are upset over anyone applying to multiple schools that’s an issue they will have to deal with within themselves. The saltiness of being rejected or waitlisted is coming out and that’s a shame. But keep your head up.
@Miti66 You’ve already sent your midyear report in, right? I don’t think there is any particular need then to send in third quarter grades, but I could be wrong
Also, just got an email inviting me to the Presidential Honors Scholar Program
Accepted. 4.0 uw gpa; 33 act. Full IB candidate. West coast applicant. Excited but got into Vassar, Berkeley, UCLA so have to make some decisions. Waitlisted at Barnard. Congratulations to everyone who applied. This process is not for the timid lol.
Accepted!!! from Miami, FL
4.6 Weighted GPA
SAT: 2030 (old)
Took 6 APs last year, 4 this year, 1 sophomore year
FOR FUTURE APPLICANTS: I applied ED I to Steinhardt for the MCC major but was deferred to RD and was accepted into the Liberal studies core program. Kinda annoyed that LSP won’t accept my AP credits, but still 100% committed to going. If you get deferred from ED, don’t give up hope, you can still get in!!!
Congrats to everyone who got accepted Go bobcats/violets
ALSO, I was accepted, but my housing portal still says nonrenewable undergraduate, so that’s a pretty good sign that the supposed housing/portal changes are not correlated to acceptance/rejection
@matico17 do you have a link to the housing portal? I don’t see where to find it in Albert
accepted! but my financial aid was denied so i don’t know how i can afford nyu :((
For those of the that have “Award access not available” on your financial aid portal: You are likely missing your social security number in FAFSA. I emailed NYU and they told me that I should either call, email, or fax my social security number over to the financial aid office. I called and they told me that it will not affect the size of my package (but I can’t tell whether that’s actually true or not).
